technically going away when I did I was taking the mickey and I could have been sanctioned so my advisor changed my signing day and hid it in the system to look like an ordinary signing time so he did me a favour

grai, I'd say you were exceptionally lucky to have had one of the few advisers who actually has some common sense and doesn't hate the people they are supposed to be helping. Those types of adviser are becoming as rare as rocking horse poo!

the new scheme you may be talking about will start in April 2014 where people either have to work 30 hours a week to get JSA or attend the JC 30 hours a week to look for work.

And of course by doing this the interviews will flood in!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

In fact AP007 you'll have to spend 40 hours each week job searching at the Jobcentre. That's 9-5, five days each week, with one hour lunch breaks - the idea being that it matches full time work...to get you into the habit. :rotfl:

That's the theory anyway, the practice will be quite a bit different I think.

Its like none of us have had a job before :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

At a guess I'd say it wont be more than one hour a week because if the WP couldn't have people there all day then I am baffled to see how the JC are going to do it and this time there is only one JC not various providers (my jc sent people to 4 different provider offices)

The Tories, Iain Duncan Smith, Osborne are beyond clueless. rolleyes.gif

I wonder whether eventually some feedback from the outside world, like employers, employment agencies, job boards, careers advisors might reach the clueless Tories in how this is not sensible in helping unemployed find jobs.

Many employers use the unemployed as an unlimited pool of free labour, agencies are useless anyway

the Labour alternative is equally out of touch - every available job nationwide gets hundreds of applicants so the idea they are going to "get people jobs" rather than have them signing on is crazy - what jobs?

as for the Tories sends 2 million claimants to the Job Centre for 30 hours a week - that just beggars belief in it's stupidity

but we all know people that rich live in another world so what would you expect

it's also such a nasty policy in it's basic motivation and attitude

normally i think they would plan to send people to a provider. however this will be the first time i think where they have had 2 schemes going at the same time, the wp and the help to work scheme. it is hard to see how they will make it work as they say it will work.

And you an me know they have barely enough space and PC for people on the WP to do one hour booked job search so this will never work.

Its a made up idea by a bunch or morons

Does anyone know for a fact how far or how long is considered to be reasonable to travel to your work provider. G4S.

It takes me nearly 2 hours to reach them due to my living in a small village with hardly any public transport.

Sometimes when i get there i am sent back home after only arriving due to computer failures or staff sickness.

Labour would have done similar and will keep all the changes the ConDems have introduced. Don't fall into the trap of believing there's differences between the parties because they, the political class, are the same and have identical agendas. That's more for them and their owners (primarily the bankers) and less for everyone else.
