They can still stop you NI contributions, which is all this poster is signing on for.0 -
Ok so with the FOI and MWA info here today was the day i told them. Went back at half 2 they checked regulations for MWA and JSA 2013 and said yes it's correct and they "Think" they are wording it wrong to customers.
Loony2012 can you clarify this for me please? Are you saying the Jobcentre think the DWP are wording the FOI wrong? In other words are they saying they think the FOI may actually be wrong?0 -

Went to my review today and was there...................THREE MINUTES
Showed them the letter and she confirmed by last date was the 19th July. She said I wont book you in for anything else next week as there is no point, just email me the job listing on Thursday and good luck!!
That was it!
I am far from SILLY and NEVER HAVE TO GO BACK THERE!!!!We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have always played the game until recently, I sign on to only keep my NI contributions up to date, in return I get asked what have I done in the last fortnight to find work, they know as everything is on UJM. Then if my efforts aren't good enough I get threatened with sanction something I really don't care if they do. You play the game and you are still at the whim of an adviser that has either got out of bed the wrong side or having a bad day and wanting to keep the sanction quotas up.
Well that's not good if that happens but let me state, we have no sanction quotas. Cant speak for every organisation but we certainly don't have them.0 -

We've all been through the signing on process but the way I see it is like this, if we are willing to take money off the gov then we have to accept the consequences of doing so, we sign an agreement to take part in what they ask of us. MANY people in other countries would be more than happy to attend JCP and WP in exchange for JSA and everything else that comes with it.
People say its a waste of their time and maybe it is, but in exchange for your time you receive £71.50 to put food on your table, something you would not have had otherwise.
But thats my opinion anyway
Wasting people's time or unfairly punishing/sanctioning them doesn't help jobseekers.
Most employees are paid to have commonsense, challenge bad practice, improve procedures, speak up when necessary.
The most important lesson clueless JC/WP could learn is to listen to their customers, take onboard feedback & criticism.0 -

A word in someone's ear, a bit of pressure, a personal improvement plan, highlighting performance of other offices, being a brainwashed civil servant robot in fear for job & prospects, is enough to get JC/WP staff issuing sanction doubts.0 -

Today has been the first time that my jobsearch hasn't been pulled apart. I don't think they like the fact that I beat them at getting off the WP.
Their threats of sanction no longer bother me in the slightest as there isn't anything significant to sanction. I wonder how much NI credits are worth in a financial sense to the country.0 -

No they said they think "They" are interpenetrating it wrong. From the way they said, they meant them on the floor.
They were sending the info and the guidance to someone who knows more about it.
I spent half hour in JCP whilst they kept reading over their regulations but before they could confirm stuff they had to get it sent to someone who knew more about it.
In the mean time i sign as normal and won't be referred to MWA until it's been resolved.
They actually tried hard to have DICE ( MWA Provider ) to cancel the DNA so as to no one bothered me about sanction until it was sorted.
But they said they sent it 2 days ago so nothing they can do. JCP Said i will have to inform them of the regulations and send the printed off regulations from DWP so a decision can be made.
It's just a waiting game for me atm but as soon as i find out i will report back. What are you being sanctioned for ?
What did they raise a doubt on 2 days ago ?
Because after Monday from the FOI info here i didn't attend MWA lol.
So went to sign on today. Got told i couldn't sign on until few hour later as they had issues to sort. Which was me not going to MWA.
All snotty at first even after i mentioned the FOI info. They changed tune when floor manager returned and said regulations did say that.
But they weren't sure WP was classed as an "employment measure" They thought they were interpenetrating it wrong or something they said so needed someone better to check it over.0 -
This is a misnomer.
A word in someone's ear, a bit of pressure, a personal improvement plan, highlighting performance of other offices, being a brainwashed civil servant robot in fear for job & prospects, is enough to get JC/WP staff issuing sanction doubts.
What he means John is that they have no "official" sanction quotas. Of course, in reality, they have exactly that for the reasons you outlined. The fact that xsupercarlx is deliberately avoiding that uncomfortable truth speaks volumes about him and the providers in general.0 -

errrr... because in addition to being a waste of time (no maybe about it) the WP is ineffective and a blatant waste of taxpayers cash. It has failed to hit all of its targets for TWO years running. Most other people, their departments and companies they work for would not be allowed to get away with such poor performance!
Remember, the House of Commons own Public Accounts committee labelled the WP performance WORSE than had it not existed and such work left to JCP!
And yet the WP has an overall budget of £5 BILLION over the lifetime of this parliament. You may think this is cash well spent. Many others think otherwise. Especially with the recent revelation that G4S and Serco, two massive players in the outsourcing sector have overcharged the government to the tune of £BILLIONS with regards criminal tagging.
See:

Funny that government ministers never investigate the failing WP to see if IT is value for money and fit for purpose!0
