Personally I don't understand why everyone hates the JC and WP so much.

We've all been through the signing on process but the way I see it is like this, if we are willing to take money off the gov then we have to accept the consequences of doing so, we sign an agreement to take part in what they ask of us. MANY people in other countries would be more than happy to attend JCP and WP in exchange for JSA and everything else that comes with it.

People say its a waste of their time and maybe it is, but in exchange for your time you receive £71.50 to put food on your table, something you would not have had otherwise.

    But thats my opinion anyway
you think recieving a small amount of money justifies unfair treatment?

We give our clients an exit review before they return to the JCP, a few of my clients have had letters or even seen their JCP Advisor before the exit review, it's best to attend.

If you didn't attend I wouldn't put a santion through, I would just make a note in your review that you FTA and leave it for the JCP to sort out.

The amount of money makes no difference, if its unfair, its unfair nor am I talking about justification. What I'm saying is we knowingly sign up to it and as a result, we have a means to survive so though it may be a horrible experience, it is keeping food on the table (and possibly a roof to cover that table).

Ok so with the FOI and MWA info here today was the day i told them. Went back at half 2 they checked regulations for MWA and JSA 2013 and said yes it's correct and they "Think" they are wording it wrong to customers.

They took details and are going to have someone else double check the policies to see if we are even supposed to be on MWA.

Due to the issue i'm not been referred back to MWA at the moment. They phoned MWA to make sure they didn't put something through to raise a dispute but they already did it 2 days ago.

so JCP said i will receive letter about sanction and to send all the info i have and inform them JCP is looking at it and then see what happens from there.

    Hopefully i don't get sanction :)

I have always played the game until recently, I sign on to only keep my NI contributions up to date, in return I get asked what have I done in the last fortnight to find work, they know as everything is on UJM. Then if my efforts aren't good enough I get threatened with sanction something I really don't care if they do. You play the game and you are still at the whim of an adviser that has either got out of bed the wrong side or having a bad day and wanting to keep the sanction quotas up.

no-one signs anything that states we agree to be treated unfairly. secondly if they have no other means of survival they have no choice. to suggest people should just tolerate it is unfair. if something is wrong in the way they are treated they should be able to speak up and hope for things to be rectified.

if you end up having to appeal a sanction make sure you get someone clued up to help you like a welfare rights officer. you will name them on the form and of course send all forms via recorded delivery.
  • Hope this helps ...

WP Providers need to submit a change of circumstances or a'WP07b' form to the Jobcentre to get paid

This lists your details and your new employers details
You are under no legal obligation to give them this information either to the Provider or JCP

1st appointment make it clear 'happy to sign, partake etc etc' but under no circumstances will you give them your new employers details .. Also tell a few of the other Clients too just to make sure they never invite you back

Payments from the JCP range depending on age, situation etc and are made after 6 months in work for JSA claimants and 3months for ESA. Payments groups range from JSA aged 18-24 Total £3,810 to 7. ESA Ex-IB Total £13,720 per individual

I think it's more about caring to appeal any sanction than anything else. But the jobcentre are also trying to get me to get me to re-engage with the work programme, saying they can help arrange training or extra learning for me.

I personally can't see the point in explaining to two sets of people what I have done to look for full time work and neither one offering any advice or any real solution to getting full time work. Thankfully I am working part time but nothing more than 10 hours per week. So hopefully I can get something else when I am actually employed.
Considering you're working part-time, only claiming JSA for NI credits, I think you're being badly treated.

There is no need for it.

and its surprising because those who dont get jsa are usually left alone as their threats dont hold much weight if they cant stop your dole.
