On another note, if they make everyone who leaves the WP after 2 yrs sign on weekly, thats basically another benefits cut for those who have to use the bus.

I have never claimed travel expenses from the jobcentre, but I think it is possible to claim for any attendances outside you normal signing time, I'm going to try and claim for Monday, and see what they say.

How can anyone stuff you on the UJM?

    Hahaha!

The entire system is designed to stuff the user. Anyone who can't figure that out should be in care!

I do not even have an account on it and never been told to open one of that I have to use so I guess I am not in care at all but still it cant be used to stuff anyone as when they MAKE YOU apply for a job and you get turned down as you are say Overqualified then you tell the JC you want an interview and if they fail to get you one then you will report them to the DWP and your MP

but then again I have not been made to apply for any jobs on it.

Let me know how I will get stuffed on it?

It is possible to claim for any attendance outside of signing on, I could have got either the bus fare (needed the ticket as proof of cost, so make sure you get a return!) or I think it was 25p/mile if I drove (again, for both ways).

so unprofessional (sp) i had to do my tests through learn direct and when i arrived the young fella who has to set you up on the computers, was missing for ages he had gone to have a smoke. I was waiting well past my appointment time for him to come back.

Didnt seem right really for them to say he had gone for a smoke is he allowed to when he is expecting people?

If this was any other service you would have probably walked out but because its work programme you cant!

Yes if the WP providers were real businesses with real customers they would have gone bust by now

I'm a 55 year old man on the dole because my previous employer loaded a reference against me - and the unbearable thing about these situations is the lack of respect - as if the entire situation isn't humiliating and depressing enough I have to deal with spotty youths talking down their noses at me when they do not know a thing about me

Of course you can't prove it but we all know there is a total absence of respect for you just by virtue of the fact that you are in the building and claiming benefits

I just keep quiet in the knowledge that I could wipe the floor with them because they are so thick but I choose not to!:A

I don't care either way but its easier to walk 10 mins to the JC instead of 1 hour there and 1 hour back on the bus
jobcentre maybe a shorter journey but that wouldnt make up for the more regular attendance, stricter approach, daft courses etc that they may send you on.

When the woman was walking round (remember we are meant to be really applying for REAL jobs in this hour) she asked how everyone was doing then she saw my list and I had nearly done it all and said 'oh AP007 you are very organised' LOL

Why is not one else I wonder?

One girl spent the hour writing what I saw was 4 envelopes and was still there when I left when the hour was up

In that time I also managed to apply for 6 jobs and emailed them to the advisor
well its like i said previously. not everyone is as super talented at it as you. being able to get so many of the same thing done so quickly makes me think you would do well working on a production line.
