Another thing I just remembered was the threat of "dont just look on the Universal Jobmatch and apply for a load of jobs the day before you come in because we can check when you signed in to it."
this is easy to deal with. ask how many do they expect per week minimum. then spread them evenly over the week. if it were a minimum of 7 then do 1 per day. of course do more if you wish. personally i dont like their interference and just give a small amount more than the minimum and i keep everything else i do private.
you say your adviser is nice but they lied and said you must allow them access to ujm. so they are not that nice. dont mistake a friendly personality as nice. judge them by what they do and say.

That all? Really? Not the site or where you found the job? How Who you applied to etc? Ref number?

I write all of this and they have never questioned anything I have done. The JC still tell me I am writing too much and too many jobs on the sheet for them

The WP just add all the jobs I apply to , to my file as a copy and paste exercise as they do not check them or do anything else with them

At my JC I didn't need to write that much detail and I was never hassled, to be honest most of the time they were just surprised when I showed them I had applied for 6 jobs every two weeks. (in my JC that's apparently above average) I did write where I found the job , but most of the time that is the same thing as how I applied (used the agency's website)

Yeah he really screwed me, I fell into every trap in the book. Thanks for the advice this is all relatively new to me, I'll be more wary from now on.

    Hi Ryan

Thanks for giving us that info, It's pretty much as expected.

The idea with the UJM record keeping is to make sanctions easier for them, so I don't allow them to access my account, and as far as I know there is nothing they can do to make me.

It's up to you, but I would try going into setup on your account and un-ticking the boxes.

I agreed to let them see the account because I just thought it was a meaningless Human Rights b!!!!!!x that was a formality

I think I would still have allowed access though even if I had known it wasn't mandatory because my feeling is the people that do not give them access will open themselves to harrassment just because they were clever enough to try and beat the system - another reason I agreed

I don't want to provoke them - I've always been fully aware that they have all the power and they know it - pee them off and you'll pay

let's face it you can't really beat the system - that's one of the things that makes it all so humiliating and stressful

what I resent is that it's so f**king Victorian - In this country we have never got beyond the punative attitude of the "Undeserving Poor" - its entrenched in the British mind set

Yeah that was my mentality when allowing them access to my account too. I've seen a lot of forums where people provoked their advisers and ended up paying for it. Its so one sided, all of this monitoring they do is just wasting energy better spent on other things.

There are 2 advisors signing people on in my JC, one does UJM users, the mean, nasty old bag does the non UJM users. Non users get grilled for about 20 mins and everything they have written in diary sheets is picked up on and is never right.

UJM users are in and out, hassle and stress free in about 2 mins. I know which I prefer.

2 advisors is not many at all. The WP points in mine have 8!!

I cant beleive you let the advisers push you around.
All you have to do is do everything what is writen down in your directions and nothing more or less.
Never give them access to your account, it is yours and they cannot force you to give it to them.
If they harass you put in a complaint to your MP.
You cannot get sanctioned if you do these things.

Just do everything they say but never never give them access, That is a sure way to get sanctioned .

Untick the box, you know it makes sense.

Like you say, they cant sanction you for anything thats not in your JSA, this doesnt change if you allow them access, for example, if you JSAG says you are looking for 30hrs a week as thats all you can work due to poor health, they cant sanction you if you dont apply for a job thats recommended to you thats more than 30 hrs.

You are no more likely to be sanctioned if you allow them access, its the same JSAG in use, so you are held to the same rules.
