well yeah obviously dwp apply it. i think its obvious that when he said fail to attend with sanction or fail to attend without sanction he means in one case he refers them to dwp for sanction and in the other case he doesnt and simply records on their system that they didnt attend without contacting dwp.
No if you fail to attend or the WP think you have they fill in a WP08 form and send that to the DWP

The DWP then write to you and ask you to provide an answer as to why you never attended

I have had to do this THREE times now as they are utter idiots!!!

All doubts where squashed and NO sanction was put in place as I was right and had all the appointment letters they sent me and their system was the one showing a MISTAKE

WP said it was an staff and system ERROR!!!!!!

If I had no paper work to back this up they would have only what the WP tell them and Id be facing 3 sanctions now!

The WP have just said ERROR and that's it

I will writing to complain to the DWP as no one takes the lies seriosuly

I see an advisor once every 4 weeks and the last wait was TWO HOURS so how are UP TO 5 people going to cope?
    That's right, they aren't!!!

There is no room at my JC for anyone other than those signing as the office upstairs is for people 6mths to 12 months out of work and the one of ground floor is 0-6 tmths and those signing and who are on the WP

They have NO PC's to use and how are you meant to attend there to do what???

I sign on in London so I think the JC is bigger than the out of town ones - it would be great to just go back to signing every two weeks

god it's all so depressing and stressful

uses up more time?? ER no I still have to do the 1 hour job search and I seem to be the only one applying for anything as others sit there and chat and I email my advisor the jobs I apply for whilst I am sitting there!!

I am going to ask where they are getting the ££ from

I can tell you where the money comes from, it is taken directly from the welfare budget and European Social Fund.

yes ordinary signing is every two weeks but I am facing the harrassment tactics of coming off the work programme so they are stepping it up - I'm just hoping they don't have the rescources to deliberately make my life miserable even if they want to because of lack of room lack of money & manpower etc.

I'm 55 so I'm hoping that puts me towards the bottom of the priority list for hassle

But its going to cost £1000's PER WEEK for this office to send out letter and I really do not think they have that kind of funding cause if they did we wouldn't be on old PC's that are over 10 years old, that are running windows XP!!!

I'm in almost the same situation (57)

The thing is, lot of people see the benefits system as an excellent way of making money, the DWP has earmarked £30million for the returners new harassment scheme.

yes you still do 1 hour. the apps take longer to do so it would take more time to do the same number but you wont be able to get the same number done because of them taking more time to do.

More BS rhetoric from a clueless Tory minister to cover failure of their policies.

Cobble together another merry go round programme.

What he really means is they want to sanction people off benefits.
