Neither the job centre nor the WP check any applications as they do not have the power to do so or the time
you have to do whatever the WP ask which includes showing them you are applying for jobs
The Jobcentre do make notes though. If you mention something and lie about it, they may come back and ask you about it at a later time.
But, I repeat, mandation is a regulated activity. It has to be because if the provider raises compliance doubts, the decision maker (DWP) relies on the provider having stuck to the guidelines.
If your provider fails to mandate you properly, the decision maker will probably overturn the compliance doubt.
It does no good to issue sanctions that will easily be overturned during the appeals process.
If you have any doubts, read this http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/wp-pg-chapter-3a-22-october-2012.pdf
This is the framework the provider should stick to. My adviser is particularly bad at following these guidelines. Fortunately I am very compliant and ultimately, I want him to fall on his own sword in the future.0 -

Notes where??? There is no where to write notes for all the jobs you apply for and no one at the JC has looked at my jobs for over 8 weeks
On their system. Generally they don't do anything. Occasionally they will make a little note that they chase up. I'd say it happens maybe once every 8 signing on days though.
It all depends on the adviser. I used to have one that noted down EVERYTHING.
Remember if you're registered with Universal Jobmatch (UJ) and you agreed to let the DWP access your application history, they will have that information to hand when you sign.
In theory, the WP should use a subject access request (SAR) if they want access to this information and not burden the claimant with duplicate record keeping.
That being said, I've never heard of a single WP adviser who ever advocated the use of UJ. It undermines their position by doing your job search automatically and it contradicts the existence of the hidden jobs market by allowing employers to advertise for free.0 -

No I am not registered with the UJM as never been told I had to so I do not have to at all
I have applied for some jobs that have been advertised there and I have proof of that. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Chase what up? How are they going to chase anything up?

If you bring in a written record of your jobsearch activity, you might write down stuff like "looked in the paper" or you might be specific and say "applied for sales assistant vacancy".
On occasion, depending on the adviser, they make a note on their system and the next signing day they will ask me "Did that sales assistant role get back to you?"
But like I said, it's not standard behaviour. Some advisers do, most don't.
I've not registered with UJ either. I find LOTS of jobs via my own searches. I think they mostly bother people who don't do so good with jobsearches, with a jobseeker's direction to register with UJ.0 -

IF you wrote "looked in the paper" or you might be specific and say "applied for sales assistant vacancy" you would be sanctioned!! LOL
You can not write I looked in the paper and for all jobs applied you need FULL details
Site you saw the job advertised
The job title
The job reference number
How and who you applied to and with an email address of the company
When and how you will chase them
No looking in the paper counts for a job application.
I have been out of work 33 months and they have NEVER asked me about anything other than jobs from the JC website to which I have given them print outs of the replies to keep on my JC file. All of these replies were knock backs as I was over qualified for the roles and all I got was s shrug of their shoulders saying 'we can not make them interview you even if you are qualified (over) for the job'!We’ve had to remove your signature. I get this from Ingeus. They give me their own version of the application tracker and expect me to fill that in as well as the JCP one.
I suspect they do it when they find themselves with nothing else to do. That isn't their job. The JCP ensure you meet your Jobseeker's Agreement.
Granted they may also do it to check with those individual employers, or as a way to gather new employer details to monopolise.
I'd chase it up with the JCP, but I imagine you don't have to do this stuff.
Part of WP mandation is that the activity has to be appropriate to the claimant's circumstances. I don't see how you could possibly argue submitting evidence to someone with no authority to check it, is appropriate to anybody.0 -
Why are you not providing that to them already?
you can email it all to them very easily like I do each week0 -
