Seem to see a lot of people who "can't be paid" as no money or waiting for security etc.
Seems a load of tosh to me and making it up.....do they really need a security truck company delivery for a handful of small cash to give people their £2.50 and suchlike back per trip?
I bet they're claiming it back from the gov't regardless of whether you collect (or collecting on your behalf for their own 'monthly tips' at the end)0 -

No I doubt they claim it back as we all have to provide receipts and sign for the cash. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
the !!!! is that it's 100% pointless as I waste 5 hours to do a 1 hour job search
When I have my review if they book me in for any more I am going to ask how it will get me a job as today I could only apply for 3 jobs in the hour as the PC's got locked 4 times!!
my previous adviser said the rules say i must have contact every 2 weeks at least. it is now almost 3 weeks since i was last in and theres no sign of another appointment as yet. i feel like i've been parked. i dont care if i have so long as i know where i am at and when my next appointment is.0 -

Edit - oh yes I have asked others who I saw last week and they have not been booked in for 4 in 6 daysWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
they need over £200 a day I have seen how many people they pay and remember this is Monday but as far as I am concerned its not good enough and if I cant claim my £ on Thursday for both days I will tell them I can not come again till such time they pay me.
No I doubt they claim it back as we all have to provide receipts and sign for the cash.0 -
No I doubt it - they are trying to look like they are helping me as we recently had a group session at the JC to give feedback on them and they got a really bad review!0

It is NOT the job centres rules at all! The woman at the job centre was very interested to hear about unsupported job searches and said what was the point in them.
I missed out on a contract role last Monday as I was not at home to call back the agency and when I got home and contacted the guy he said they had to move quickly and get CV's over and it was too late. I am going to tell them that too and if they want me to get a job I need to be at home at least to reply to emails or call the people back. We’ve had to remove your signature. I've been to work programme last Thursday, Yesterday and I'm going today.
My engagement time is too much.
Fair enough, Thursday was a screening day for a call centre job, but yesterday was just a "pre-screen for the actual screen", where I was told "not to ask negative questions" like "what are the guaranteed hours each week".
So today's screen, for a part-time job I don't want, in an industry where I already have experience seems pointless to me, given that the last employer's screen went well and they want me to be fully available to take their telephone interview.
My advisor is so loathesome as well. I cannot wait until this Work Programme bubble bursts and he's hopefully on the scrapheap.
If I was looking to hire new staff, I wouldn't dream of hiring anybody from the Work Programme, just based on the terrible performance figures.0 -
I think I've been parked. I haven't been into the WP office since October. All I have is a telephone review once a month. I had one yesterday. My advisor rings me (2 hours after the time of the appointment), asks me if I've been to any interviews, how many jobs I've applied for (this is never checked so I could think of a number and double it), what feedback I've had, checks I'm still doing voluntary work, makes another appointment and that's it. Except yesterday her PC crashed twice while she was on the phone so it took 35 minutes, most of which we spent talking about the weather and the wonders of modern technology (OK I realise their PCs aren't modern!) while her PC rebooted!
I'm quite happy about this but it does annoy me that they are being paid millions of pounds to help me find work and have done absolutely nothing.
In my first year which has just ended they have found me a grand total of two jobs to apply for, one of which was unreachable by public transport (I'm not prepared to walk for 20 minutes down an unlit country lane) and the other I'd already applied for via the Job Centre website.
They have also sent me on some really boring and irrevelant courses led by the most offensive man I have ever met! At the beginning I went in once a week for their structured jobsearch and spent two hours looking for jobs on the slowest computers I have ever come across. One man at the jobsearch asked if he could bring his own laptop in as it was faster and he would be able to find more jobs in the two hours. He was told by the leader (the offensive trainer mentioned earlier) that he had to use their computers and if he was not co-operative it would lead to a sanction.
So that's my experience of the Work Programme.
Forgot to mention above when my advisor made my next appointment she asked me if I wanted another telephone review or if I wanted to come into the office so it seems to be up to me what I do now. I picked a telephone review. There is such an air of doom and gloom from the minute you walk in their door I feel like topping myself when I come out!0
