If u have just got a sick note then u do not have to do job search or go to se your work programme adviser because u r ill,Donnajunkie any thing u write down try and make it hard for them to read your on the course because they get paid more money for u being on it and yes its a waste off time and will get u no where all u can do is play along.Ive not done one course im there for around 5 mins every 2 weeks i never sign any off there forms dpa etc they dont have my cv or phone number as i dont consent to them having my private info at all and up to now there is not a thing they can do about it.only tell them what u need to which is very little, get your self a recording device and record every meeting with them.

i'm hating the course they have put me on at the moment. theres loads of paperwork. you have to write paragraphs on all sorts of subjects that i have little knowledge of. it is like one big english lesson and i was useless at that at school. apparently tomorrow we are doing a team work task that involves all sorts of crap. it is going to take a few weeks to do. we have to do some sort of project that involves researching, having meetings etc. i have no idea what i am doing. he tells us what the task is and largely expects us to know what we are doing. i dont care whether i pass the course or not but i dont want to look stupid and i dont want to get into trouble for not doing the work.

Does the 'course' lead anywhere or to anything? Any qualification to be gained? Silly question perhaps.

But if not, then it does seem that it is yet another provider creating a 'make work' scheme for both staff and clients in order to simply pass time and con the wider public into thinking that the time spent attending WP is time spent productively.

only if you let them. Withdraw consent for them to contact anyone about you and don't tell them or the job centre who your employers are.

Good luck for your interview btw :)

there is a qualification but a worthless one.
today started ok but then turned bad. in the teamwork task my team decided to do a project on the success and failure of back to work schemes. we figured it would be easy as it would be just a case of printing the info off the net. however the tutor decided that both groups would swap tasks. so now we have to plan the start up of a courier service even though none of us have a clue about how to start up a business.

philip i gave them to letters saying i do not consent which u can get off the net and put your name and date in them ive been on it over 6 months now,my first 4 or 5 visits were to try and get me to sign and and hand over my cv etc so i removed all my private info from it and when i handed it over for them to look at it he tryed to make a copy off it to which i said no i was then told they would stop my money for not signing etc so again told them to put it in writing that they want me to sign there forms dpa etc to witch i get told to come back in 2 weeks well i then walk in there again and asked to se a manager and said its a complaint i then told him that there staff were trying to bully in to signing etc and that i had recorded it all and if it carrys on i will take legal action in short it ended with him saying i will not be asked again and will be given a new adviser so now im only there for like 5 mins every 2 weeks.Total waste off time doing any off the stuff they ask u to do.
