The Work Programme New Thread

The JC won't do anything without seeing a copy of the form I was made to sign as they claimed they didn't know what it was... They said any deal around travel expenses and signing of forms was up to the provider, just hopeless but then I expect nothing less of the JC.0

anyway i spoke to the job centre and as far as they know its compulsory to attend the work programme even if only on ni credits from jsa,but ill wait and see when i go in for appointment at job centre in a few weeks
It is not mandatory for people on credits-only. It is voluntary.Fokking Fokk!0 -
As mvengemvenge said, if you're only claiming NI credits the WP is voluntary. See 'work programme memo 69'. Also, the company you're being referred to for the 'voluntary' work can't be a company that makes a profit from you, and washing people sounds like a care home so may be privately run/owned.0

Anyone know what the colour codes mean?! It says orange on my letter for some weird reason and a guy I'm in job seeking with is orange as well but other people are other colours.. Weird0

I went to doctor today and I got a 4 week sick line. I have signed off and made claim for ESA. I am currently on the Work Programme. Do I still have to look for work during this sick period. Will everything remain as it is. My anxiety and depression has just gone out of control now and I am currently waiting for appointment for cbt.
I posted the other day about getting referred to volunteer for personal care. The stress of this has made my Social Anxiety problems even worse as I'm terrible around people, never mind care for them.0 -
I'm thinking about going to the doctors with my depression & anxiety which has gotten worse after a really bad break up. I've been diagnosed with anxiety before but I feel like my dr will think I'm pretending to be anxious or depressed to go on the sick. What do you actually say when you go to the doctors for a sick note, or whatever they're called?0
-
I'm worried my advisor will think i'm pretending but I have been to Dr for years with anxiety problems so they know I'm telling the truth.
If your anxious then go to your Doctor and think of yourself forget them. Tell your Doctor you can't sleep and are having panic attacks.0 -
Hope ok to post, not WP related as such but will affect most of us on here..
Article on the new Council Tax bills the unemployed (and others) are going to have to pay when the new Council Tax benefit rules come in, in April, let's hope we get jobs before that... Quite a difference in what the various Councils will charge! One Council in London is even charging those unemployed over 12 months more!
I think I will have to pay about £200, not sure where that will come from

i'm hating the course they have put me on at the moment. theres loads of paperwork. you have to write paragraphs on all sorts of subjects that i have little knowledge of. it is like one big english lesson and i was useless at that at school. apparently tomorrow we are doing a team work task that involves all sorts of crap. it is going to take a few weeks to do. we have to do some sort of project that involves researching, having meetings etc. i have no idea what i am doing. he tells us what the task is and largely expects us to know what we are doing. i dont care whether i pass the course or not but i dont want to look stupid and i dont want to get into trouble for not doing the work.0
