I've been signing on for nearly 11 months and was due to be sent on the WP in Jan. I've managed to land a temp job over Xmas, but will only be 5 or 6 weeks. If I then go and sign on again in 1st or 2nd week of Jan will my claim be linked and I'll be sent off to the WP?0

I believe so. I have it in my head that you need to sign off for atleast 6 months for it to count as a fresh claim.0 -
Ugh. Oh well. But from reading this thread it doesn't sound too bad to start with, just another meeting to go to.
Depends what you get put on. If it is what most people are put on it is little more than normal signing on. For others there is compulsory voluntary work, I think this is for 18-24.0 -
ok so i had my first appointment today with my job coach.
ot a great first impression. asked why i hadnt found a job due to me having 10 years experiance i my field, told her that part of it was due to the local jobs available and that i no longer have my certificate for my nvq.
apparently this shows i am someone who doset want to work.
asked me about the questions i had answered on my induction, such as i find it difficult to get on with work colleagues. explaned that i my last job i didnt get o with most of my work colleagues. this apparetly means i doVt wat to go ack to work
asked me what my streangths ad weaknesses are, aswereed im not sure. then ssaid im good in a emergency. apparently this means i am ot watig to go back to work.
Asked why i thik my appearence affecets the way people see me. i answered becasue i have og hair ad although i always shave for interviews i prefer ot to shave as i dont like it. apparetly this also shows i donot wat to go back to work.
she stopped there, apparently noone has ever ticked the ammount of answers o the questionaire that i did.
Wet o to ask about my job experiaces, (i have care, retail and cleanner o my JSA agreement, ive ever doe retail work ad she asked why that had een chosen, explained i my last care job the clients had the right to choose there support provider so if i didnt do a good job the company would lose customers. Apparetly this is ot customer services/retail and so i should ot have chosen this.
she doubled the job searches i need to do, of which all the ones she has given me have to be job applications, and not job searches.
then she went on to re discuss my first question, and decided to tell me i have psychotic tendancies, and i should see my doctor about this, as this is stopping me get work.
i ponted out that i have a job offer upo completion of some trainnig, which she conveniatly dismissed.
i also have to go on a PETS course what ever that is as she ever fully explained it, but from what she said it sounds like a confidence course with mucis instruments.
i left feelig rather annoyed and upset as not oce did iget the feelig she was trying to help me or give me any support, only belittle me in a room full of other people.MoneySpendingExpert0 -
always tell them what they want to hear as much as you can whether in a questionaire or asked directly. obviously at the same time you dont want to give them too much info because they can use it against you. for example if you state you are interested in retail they would have you doing training courses related to retail. i think the trick is to try and stay as neutral as possible. dont hate everything coz that will cause you problems and dont love everything otherwise they will have you doing everything. you cant be neutral all of the time but doing it with most things will probably help you avoid issues with them.
by the way you really should read what you have typed before you post as you have loads of spelling mistakes.0 -

I wish. I've asked them what training courses are available to me as I need to retrain as all my experience is in retail but I can no longer do that due to ill health and they have told me there is nothing available.0
