    Hey Guys

I am not on the WP yet and from the stories here I hope I dont have to be put on it but a mate of mine has been on it a year and has now been told by the people he see that the DWP have instructed them to send letter sout to everyone telling them they all have to go to the office once a week to do a job search

do you all go to yours once a week or have you received a letter from the work programme people telling you to do so in the last few weeks?

How is this going to help him or anyone get a job?
dwp doesnt tell them how to run the course. that is them bullsh***ing and passing the buck. they can have people in as often as they like. every provider does things differently. what i would suggest to anyone who doesnt like having to go in as often as they do is to keep asking for help with applications even if you dont need help and do loads so it costs them alot. that means sending them through the post and not via email.

How is different to applying all day for jobs at home? Surely you do not have access to your email and stuff when you are there?
you do have access to email coz they do have an internet connection. if you are talking about microsoft outlook they will just say get a hotmail address.

How would you even know what you are doing with 272 people?

He says I am a easy person to deal with as I always have something on the go, but he did say he always seemed to get the difficult clients.

To top it off I got a letter from the DWP friday stating that if I didn't attend my provider I could get sanctioned upto 26 weeks. I explained to my broker and he said that the computer system automatically generates a letter when an unauthorised FTA occurs, he did say no broker can sanction anyone only the DWP can do that.

no his own PRIVATE secure email address at home on his laptop

Like me all his accounts online with site such as Reed have his real email address not a hotmail address and then he would have to update all CV's and online accounts for all of these jobs to be sent to him once applied.

How do you get your CV off the laptop at home then to say attach to a job applction that is not on a site that already holds your CV?

Also they haven't told him and probably wont till her gets there what the is the procedure for this job search? Do you have to just apply and write them down to show them on what?

this is the same letter my mate has - one from the DWP dated 7th August and then one dated the 10th from the work programme people and when he asked about the appointment they emailed back saying it was a job search appt for everyone now each week

He has a letter from the DWP saying he could be sanctioned like the poster above me just said here and then the next day a letter arrived saying he had this new appointment only 1 week after seeing them!!

yes that is why i said they will tell him to get a hotmail address. if he has his cv on disc he maybe able to attach his cv from that. although they may have deactivated the drives like mine has. in that case what he needs to do is set up a hotmail address while at home and send an application through that. it is easy to attach files to an email in hotmail. then so long as the email hasnt been deleted when he goes into the centre he can download the cv from the email to their desktop. he can then attach to any email applications he is doing through hotmail while there. dont forget at the end of the session to delete it off their computer and that includes from the recycle bin.
yes he will probably be required to put all jobs applied for on a job log sheet.

i believe everyone has recieved a letter telling them about what would happen if they were sanctioned. it is just a coincidence that he has got another letter saying he will now be there weekly.

I know he has to send a CV to himself and then save it and then delete it but who would think to do all that? I bet they do not and they haven't suggested it so I will tell him not to mention it and only apply for jobs where he has an online account.

Job log sheet? Is that what you do? How many are you meant to apply for whilst there?
