I guess thats the same if you get a temp job signing off and then back on again within a few months as jobs are very temp based nowadays.0

I have a job starting the first Monday in September but im due to have my first interview with the job centre about the work program next week. Should I tell them about my new job when I see them (as its not worth their time or government money to send me to the program) or will be be less stressful to just go along with it for 2 weeks and sign off just before my job starts.
I am of course looking for work that starts sooner than 3 weeks time in keeping with my job seeker agreement.
And since my job starts on a Monday, should I sign off on the Friday before or go into the job centre after work on Monday and sign off?0 -

Let's be clear. The job is on the 3rd of Sept, less than a month away? However, the JC wants you to start the WP next week Monday? In that case, inform the JC by all means. However, you do not have to tell your WP provider about your new position, should you be sent there. In fact if I were in your boots, I would not bother. Depending on the JC advisor, you may not be sent to the WP as it would be a complete waste of time and money. Despite what Chris 'Greyman' Greyling says, WP providers DO receive an upfront payment. It is around £400 per client. So your provider will be pocketing 400 quid for you turning up for around a fortnight!
The harsh fact is that people like your good self have found work under their own steam WITHOUT the aid of the WP. And yet, the provider STILL has the nerve to claim credit AND a payment for finding you employment!!! Very dodgy indeed. This is one reason why I would be reluctant to tell a provider that I had found employment.0 -
Tell the jobcentre when you next visit.
As for looby75 next time they phone ask for the complaints form to be sent to you or ask to speak to their manager.
You could also phone the jobcentre up and get them to phone up the work program give the reasons you mentioned above, You've told the work program and they are not LISTENING to you and the harassment it making you worst so all the time they are phoning and sending you letters you'll need to be on ESA longer.
small note: depending on how long your on the sick claiming ESA the jobcentre will eventually send you a letter telling you to go see their "doctor", who will determine if you are fit for work. regardless of what YOUR doctor or hospital say.
if their doctor says you are fit for work, and your doctor says you unfit for work, they will go with THEIR doctor not yours, and then you'll probably get the letter i did, about being sanctioned after the date their doctor says your fit for work, and have to go through that process of reconsideration / appealing and finally the tribunal like me.
And all i had was kidney stone, but it was painful.
I wasnt expecting to be on ESA for so long, my assumptions where wrong.
I was expecting possibly 2months max. but there was a 3months waiting list for the sonic blasting cant spell what its actually called, lythripsy.
march 17 went into hospital, june finally had it done, september signed back on after waiting to make sure it had passed and everything was fine and i didnt need to have a 2nd one done. got the all clear from my doctor. signed back on, but in july has a letter telling me i was sanctioned, had the tribunal in DEC 3 months after i signed back on, stupid. small note: according to the appeals you have to stay on ESA until the tribunal. but you need a doctors note to be able claim, however you cant get one from the doctor if he says your fit for work, so i assume your supposed to go those months either not claiming ESA or nothing in benefits or sign back on to JSA, when they decided i didnt have good enough reasons for not claiming back on JSA earlier aka whilst I still had the stone and was sanctioned they couldnt stop the ESA payments as i was no longer on ESA i was on JSA. Rules are made to be broken.
reason i signed on JSA is because of the above i couldnt go 3months until the tribunal living on thin air, and no income to pay the council the rent.0 -

I, personally, wouldn't tell the jobcentre, and definitely not the work programme provider. The jobcentre may question whether you are really seeking work if you have a job starting in 3 weeks, so you may not get any money at all.
On another note, did anyone get a letter from the jobcentre regarding sanctions on the work programme? 2 week sanction for your first failure to comply with it, 4 weeks for the second failure, 26 weeks for the third, although this can be reduced to 4 weeks if you 'fully re-engage' with the programme.0 -

i would not tell the work programme about the job as they will want to take credit.
you can either sign off the friday before or if you can get there on the monday you can sign off then as well. so long as you put the last day you want to claim for as the day before you start work you will be fine.0 -
