Yes sure am unlucky when employers/agencies:
1, do not read all applications as they have too many (up to 300 or so for each job)
2, discount you as you are over qualified
3, discount you as you haven't been working (yeah I would if I could get a job)
    the list could go on.

sorry if thats another 'answer for everything'

So all these jobs you apply for every week your application never ever gets acknowledged, in what 2 years or so of being unemployed?

I'd say I only get replies from 10% and most of them I have to chase up myself. 4 interviews in that time and all direct with the companies, non via agencies as 3 of the ones I registered with back in the summer of 2010 said when I hit 1 year out of work they could no longer help me as I had been out of work too long but if they were helping me they would have got me some job interviews.

It's bit pointless & counterproductive them persecuting you & seeing you so many times, as they're not getting paid extra for it.

And they should have realised that they may not get paid anything if you get & stay in a job, as you've witheld consent so have an idea what's going on, how they get paid, what information they need.

Am confused myself as to why they need to see me so much, only thing I can think of is to pi$$ me off but I aint gonna change my mind about giving consent. The Regional Managers so called resolution to my complaint didnt deal with the fact that a member of staff tried using threats and the letter I recieved off him basically rehashed what the manager of the office I attend said so they obviously had a nice chat with each other.

Luckily the interview was in a local office so I've got that next week. I've thought about signing off too as it means no more work programme but luckily I'm not due back in for a few weeks

    card

The card allows you to work on building sites, but if you have no experience I doubt the card would be of much use to you.

thats why they should make a big effort to apply to as many companies as possible in these jobsearch sessions and make sure its all through the post so that there is also the cost of postage for the provider. they could get the serious applications done first that they would do anyway and then do loads very quickly and send them to anywhere and not worry about the quality.
