been messed about more by this course i'm doing. the hours we had to do today werent what we were told they would be. as a result i had nothing to eat all day as i had assumed i would be home for lunch. i'm going to be in there on a day that clashes with signing so had to try and get my time changed. the jobcentre told me i had to have a letter to prove i am on a course. so i went to see provider and they proceeded to take 3 years to type a short letter.
back on the course itself they want 2 forms of id. not only to prove who we are but also to prove what age we are. i have nothing with my date of birth. so the conversation started to go along the lines of getting a copy of my birth certificate. i said i will only do it if i get the money beforehand. the only way i will pay first and get reimbursed later is if i have a letter from them saying they will reimburse me. i am not doing it based on their word.

How did you ever claim for JSA if you have no ID of proof of age etc? Why do you not have a birth certificate?

Also if this is a course the WP have sent you on why are you needing to prove anything?

I think DJ said it was a CSCS course, you have to have photo id in order to sit the test and be given your card at the end.

My friends son has to sit the test on Monday but he doesn't have photo id so he has to fill out a Identity wavier form, provide his birth certificate, and have someone of "standing" sign the photo and complete the form to say he is who he says he is (similar to when you have to have a passport photo signed.)

do you think theyll help me with course fees? theres a course that would be really beneficial to me and it only lasts for 1 or 3 days but its quite expensive.

I dont know for sure but I know they are sending people on courses from my local office.

As for them being paid, Im sure I read somewhere that they get paid so much per week and then get bonuses when you get a job and when you have been employed for a year.

They get a small fee when you join the WP but I am not sure at all they get a weekly payment. If they got paid weekly they do not want you to get a job as the longer you are our of work, the more £ they get.

i've only ever had to show bank statements and payslips when i have made a claim.
i have to pay to get a copy of my birth certificate. that is why i currently do not have a copy of it.
on the last point agree it is ridiculous what they are asking for. they dont keep a copy of the id so they could easily just fib to save hassle. i've found a membership card that has my dob on. i am going to ask if thats ok. i bet they say no. if they do i will be tempted to say well if it isnt sorted you wont get paid and it doesnt make any difference to me coz i am not bothered whether i get the cscs card or not.

That sounds very odd as not one of them prove who you are, only where you live.

well all correspondence will only go to the named person and address. also all payments will only be made to that person as well. anyone can get a copy of a birth certificate so that doesnt really prove who i am either.
