Wrong!! There are jobs! In the last 4 weeks I applied for 93 jobs but they have NO power to get anyone an interview let alone a job.

That amazes me really, we live in totally different worlds.

This is only proven by again this week turning up for my appointment and being in the buliding 8 minutes then just told see you in four weeks. Still just have to email (a new adviser - yeah 3 in 4 months) 5 jobs a week for them to put on my file & that's all!! I give up really I do!!
you really need to wake up and realise that despite it being annoying that you have to travel there just for 8 minutes of nothing it is better than the alternative. if they listened and made a plan to have you doing more all it would be is a load of rubbish that would annoy you even more. these courses are generally about giving people a hard time. so that is all you would get if you spent more time with them, a hard time.
they are never going to do anything of any worth.
i am not having a go at you here even though some of the wording may seem like i am.

Eventually? When? How are they going to do that? I am also looking for admin work too.
i think what he is saying is they are trying to give you time to do your own thing. after that they will be pushing you into poundland etc. they will say something like you have been with us for this length of time and havent been able to find a job in what you normally do, so we think you should consider something else. they will then send you to somewhere like poundland.

No they are not just giving me time to do my own thing at all. They have told me they do not get people like me so have no idea what to do with me and there is no help. We keep going over this!!!

That wont happen as I will ask them to prove what THEY have done for me..as I have ONLY had ONE appointment with my adviser since August 2011 they would find it hard.

I have already told you but YOU are not listening and that's probably why you are maybe having a hard time on the WP (you don't listen) that my provider will not send me to do a work placement ANYWHERE!

LOL I am VERY awake thanks! No the alternative would be prove they are worth the ££££ they are going to be given!!

You say these 'course' are meant to give people a hard time but who is getting a hard time? I am getting a very EASY time and seems YOU seem to have the bigger problem with it all than me or anyone else on here!!!

Theres lots of experienced professional people on the dole so I dont know why they are saying they dont get people like you there. When I was signing on, one of the advisors said they had loads of professional people due to council redunancies etc. There just saying that to you in my opinion.Theres no way in this climate that all unemployed people have no qualifications and work experience etc.
The main barrier is lack of general jobs, I mean there are jobs here but things like Headteacher, or the Head of HR, or a systems analyist for a hospital etc. You cant just apply for things you wouldnt have a cat in Hells chance of getting.
That work programme is what it is and it wont get you a job so theres no point in getting frustrated and upset. Lady miss A , have you thought about going to college in some capacity to learn something new or update your existing skills doing something that interests you?. A lot of courses are free if your on JSA and this may give you new ideas and new hope.At the very least you would be out and about meeting new people and concentrating on new things and not getting upset about the work programme or the job situation. You would also still have time to apply for jobs etc.
I know how horrible and frustrating it is to have no job, and I have the added problem of no proper last employer reference. But I've felt better from doing some voluntary work and one of the places also offers some support as well. I've found trying to concentrate on the postive to be beneficial, even if it doesnt solve the overall problem. Theres no easy answers in this climate, you just have to do the best you can for yourself.

I never said there wasn't I said THEY as in the providers office I go to said they do not get people like me in there. I never said it, they did and I am only saying what they said to me and not making it up.

If there were loads of people in the office I go to who are 'professional' then why are they running PC courses on how to use Windows, the net etc? Surely these people have no IT skills therefore are doing these courses. Why am I not doing these too? Hmm.........I have heard people in there who still do not even have or know what a CV is so please do not tell me you know what happens at my provider.

If there were FREE courses out there then the WP would be telling me about them?

I am not upset at all so do not know where you get that from. I am just trying to point out that NO ONE knows what the WP is as there is no template and no one can tell me what help I am meant to be having. It is meant to be support, so where is it?

If you ask oh and I have 'what help can you give me' and the reply is 'what do you want us to do' and I reply 'I dont know you tell me what you can do' and they say 'erm nothing' how then does that work?

I could not give two stuffs if I go there, spend 8 mins and go home again what I do care is all the do gooders saying 'oh you get help in finding a job' Where is this help? Anyone know? No I thought not.
  • Thats what I said I dont know why they are saying it to you!
They are running basic courses because they only cater to the lowest denominator because they are ignorant and lump all the unemployed people together. Also these courses such as basic windows etc are often very cheap etc.
I wasnt trying to say what happens at your provider I was saying what I know from my own experiences of signing on at a jobcentre. I know there are a lot of professional people who are unemployed from reading the papers and from my own knowlege of family and friends who are affected.
If you want to find something relevant course wise that interests you then you really have to look yourself and research what is available. The W.P probably wont know all the courses on offer in your city.
Its that you sound upset and frustrated thats all.
  • What more evidence do people need that the WP is a huge scam?

Taxpayer money going into a gravy train where claimants are kept on the books for 2 years by people that can do whatever they like. Get a job (if you're lucky) and then when that folds go straight back to the provider who then gets a second bite at the cherry. There's no support for people tha thave problems, certainly not mental health issues.

The whole scheme is a national disgrace and Grayling should be taken out and shot. He is a duplicitous manipulative liar - and one that's happy to claim expenses despite his constituency being less than 20 miles from parliament in a tory safe seat.

Don't expect any help from this government. Neil Kinnock had it right 20 odd years ago when he warned not to get old, not to be sick, not to be poor and not to be out of work under the tories. This government of spoiled rich arrogant self entitled idiots is wrecking this country from the very core.

I warn you that you will have pain – when healing and relief depend upon payment.

I warn you that you will have ignorance – when talents are untended and wits are wasted, when learning is a privilege and not a right.

I warn you that you will have poverty – when pensions slip and benefits are whittled away by a government that won’t pay in an economy that can't pay.

I warn you that you will be cold – when fuel charges are used as a tax system that the rich don't notice and the poor can't afford.

I warn you that you must not expect work – when many cannot spend, more will not be able to earn. When they don't earn, they don't spend. When they don't spend, work dies.

I warn you not to go into the streets alone after dark or into the streets in large crowds of protest in the light.

I warn you that you will be quiet – when the curfew of fear and the gibbet of unemployment make you obedient.

I warn you that you will have defence of a sort – with a risk and at a price that passes all understanding.

I warn you that you will be home-bound – when fares and transport bills kill leisure and lock you up.

I warn you that you will borrow less – when credit, loans, mortgages and easy payments are refused to people on your melting income.

I warn you not to be ordinary. I warn you not to be young. I warn you not to fall ill. I warn you not to get old.
