The police are currently taking between 10 and 14 days to take a statement. When I have a spare moment later on I intend to write down what occured whilst it's still fresh.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Good idea, and if you have any photo's of the scene it will help with the claim. I think everything takes more time over the Xmas period as everyone is busy and getting a little tetchy. Not a fan of Asda but i'd imagine being a manager of one of their stores this time of year is pretty much hell. He should really look into it carefully though as if i'm not mistaken the driver has actually done somthing illegal with an Asda sign on the side of the van. Doesn't look good for them to ignore this. Hope you sort it out and have a good Xmas.
Edit: Could you pop into the local police station to make your statement? Might speed things along a bit if you do. Good luck.0 -
I would call the head office and notify them anyway. Let them put a rocket under the store manager. It's a busy time of year so he is far more likely to prioratise it if head office are kicking his butt.
You don't need to "complain" at this point. Just notify them of the basic facts of the incident.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Sadly it was dark when the incident occured so I had to wait to take some photo's when it was light which was outside of work.
I have heard back from Asda, they've admitted there was a driver on the road the incident occurred and we're just waiting for their insurance company to contact my insurance company.I am a Mortgage Adviser

I thought they meant a HGV would have caused more extensive damage- i.e. it would have removed the drivers side of the car and taken it with them.0 -
Well they've sent out some store bodies to come and take photo's for their files.
I looked at them after it was done.
Oh, and their not fired or anything, they just get "disciplined"I am a Mortgage Adviser

Funniest post ever!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Im certain they meant a big HGV if it hit the OP's car would have taken most of the bodywork of the drivers side of the car!

Sorry to laugh but that is very funny.0 -
Should I be worried that they came and photographed the car?
They said it was for their records and also insurance purposes.
My OH has gone ballistic at me for letting them take photo's.I am a Mortgage Adviser

No not at all, evidence needs to be gained from all sides. As longs as youve got your own photos (sure ive read you do!?)
Tell the OH to pipe down!!
Also tell them that theres no law that states they cant unless they had to enter your land and you didnt give permission. Dunno what the OH is talking about tbh??!?!0 -

He's a complete eejit at times. Likes to think he's "protecting" me when in actual fact he just gets under my feet half the time.
My boss said I had nothing to worry about, and yes, I took some photos when it was light enough to this morning.I am a Mortgage Adviser
