asda van's do have trackers in them and they will know who was driving ,Rotherham store do's have little vans ,
best thing to do is ring asda house at leeds ,(if you have any asda food thiers a number on the back ,they will give you the right number to ring)
do not warry about not having the reg number ,the tracker never lies
PS good job it was not a HGV ,they always take the drivers side with them,

That would make me so angry! Keep us updated, can't believe he had the nerve to scrape your car and drive off! As if white van men don't have a reputation as it is...0

It sickens me when company van drivers do this, its not as though it would even affect their insurance premiums or no claims as it will more than likely be a company policy. Good luck in getting it sorted.
Hiya - Superbiatch is right in that it should be relatively easy to trace the driver. However, I've just dealt with a situation at work where one of my colleagues was busted for speeding in a works van - the penalty points, speeding fine, etc., go to the individual driver and not the company. It was the same when I worked for a company that also employed an HGV driver - the driver was rigid about sticking to the rules as he knew that his own licence was at stake.
And those who've mentioned that the driver was committing a criminal offence in driving away from the scene are right - he's in the very deep Christmas doo-doo when he gets caught.
Good luck OP - it's a horrible thing to happen to anyone, especially at this time of year. Hope it all gets sorted quickly. x0 -

Why would they, whoever 'they' are, side with an HGV driver that has hit a car and driven off? It's still illegal whatever size vehicle they are driving. OP make sure to inform the police of the drivers details once you have them to ensure he/she gets prosecuted for this.0 -
Okay,
The Asda manager is being less than useless to be honest.
First all he accused me of lying because none of his drivers would drive off from the scene of an accident. Why do I have two witnesses that can swear that's exactly what they did?
Secondly, he rang me back and said something about another car being involved. No there wasn't. He repeated a road name that's no where near the one where my incident occurred and then he admitted he'd got his wires crossed and this was a second incident that had occurred!!
He's not rung me back so I have had to chase him, he's waiting for the tracking company apparently.
So so annoyed, I am in two minds to actually contact Head Office.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Get onto the police and your insurance company and let them battle it out. If the driver left the scene fully aware the accident had taken place then he is in for some severe trouble from the police. If there are 2 witnesses then there should be no trouble at all in getting this sorted. The police would i imagine speak to Asda and get the tracking details which should show the van in the vicinity of the accident and the van should also have damage which coincides with what you say. No point stressing about it as it seems cut and dry to me. Don't let it worry you, it should be the driver worrying at this point as he'll probably at the very least lose his job over this.0
