Asda Van hit my car!

Hi,
Not even sure why I am posting this, just feel so frustrated.
Was tonight at somebodies house purchasing some driving lessons (not me, my OH) Heard a loud bang and some scraping. Turn around and an Asda van was forcing his way down a narrow road and ended up scraping and denting my front passenger side wing and passenger side bumper, my passenger door cannot be used.
Attempted to follow the vehicle which made off at speed but was no where to be found. Was only minutes away from the local Asda so went there and asked for the management. They said it wasn't their store but another one and that store would contact me in the morning.
Thankfully I have 2 witnesses that have come forward, bless their hearts!!
Argh!! So tomorrow I hope my boss is understanding why I may get a couple of phone calls.
Seriously not happy, the car was whilst not new, it's only 3 years old and has only been mine for 2 weeks

Isn't that leaving the scene of an accident? Should be reported to the police - did your witnesses get the reg number?LBM: 22.12.2010 :j Self-managed DMP start 29.1.2011DMP Mutual Support Thread No: 4130

It was reported to the police this evening and I have an incident number.
Sadly no one got the reg number as he was away too fast. I chased after him and attempted to get his attention, but it sadly didn't work.
He was revving hard to get through the gap so he must have known there was something wrong.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Well I'm sure there will be damage on the van also, so shouldn't be hard to locate the driver. It sickens me when company van drivers do this, its not as though it would even affect their insurance premiums or no claims as it will more than likely be a company policy. Good luck in getting it sorted.LBM: 22.12.2010 :j Self-managed DMP start 29.1.2011DMP Mutual Support Thread No: 4130

that's awful! shouldnt be too hard to trace an asda van with its side all crunked up though - it would be pretty noticeable in the depot or on the road. I hope it's not too long til you hear something OP.0

It should have a load of my paintwork down the side of the van!I am a Mortgage Adviser

They surely have records who was driving in that area0

Well I went into Asda with one witness and the "manager" said they had checked and it was the Rotherham store who had logged a delivery on that road near that time.
Isn't that a round about way of admitting liability though?I am a Mortgage Adviser

Did you see the driver make a delivery in that street? Maybe the one that hit your car was just driving through the street? Was it a through road or a cul-de-sac?0 -
It was a one way street and there would be no need to have 2 vans on the same road.I am a Mortgage Adviser

What i'm getting at is that it could've been a van from the Asda you visited. He might not have actually been making a delivery in that street but driving through to get to somewhere else. Makes sense if that Asda was the nearest one to where you were.
It might be a van from the other store, but also it might be just a van from the nearest store driving through to get to somewhere else, especially if there are a few one way streets round that way.
Just thinking aloud.0
