Ok I'll share!!
When I was in my teens we took on a rescue dog who was the sweetest dog I have ever known and was a huge part of our family. Unfortunately he developed throat cancer at a very young age and my poor mum had to make the heart breaking decision to have him put to sleep. He had a habit of running up the stairs with me and my brother absolutely every time we went up. For a few months after he died I could feel him against my legs on the stairs to the point where a couple of times I actually said 'for gods sake Prince!' and my brother did the same. I also ran into the bathroom in a hurry one day and saw him lying by the sink and physically stepped over him. I don't believe spirituality is confined to a human presence.
My great nan died when I was nine years old. When my younger brother was in his early teens and we were living at my mums old house my daughter was just over a year old and slept in a room above the lounge. My brother was having some issues at school and a local charity provided a free of charge counsellor/support worker. We had never, ever met this lady before and the first time she walked in the house she said hello to my mum and then asked if she could have a word in the lounge, mum obviously thought it was to do with my brother and his needs but the lady said 'I am sorry if this alarms you but as soon as I walked into the house I was approached by an elderly lady who has problems with her hips, she said you recently removed the armchair from the babies room (and pointed to the exact room above her), she has asked if you would be so kind as to put it back as she likes to sit there while she watches the baby sleep' My great nan had broke both her hips in her old age and it was shortly after breaking the second hip that she passed away. Literally days before this my mum had removed a very old green single arm chair as we were going to get my daughter a proper bed but we took the advise and DD has always had an armchair or a sofa in her room ever since
When DD started to talk she would often babble away to herself but sometimes I would listen from outside and you could hear her talk and then pause like she was waiting for a reply before continuing the conversation. I have never asked her about it but I am quite happy to know that maybe my great nan keeps an eye on her
Earlier this year while standing in the kitchen I knew someone was behind me and assumed it was my OH so asked him if he wanted tea or coffee but there was no reply, I turned round and there was no one there. When I mentioned it to my OH he told me that the night before he had been sitting at the dining table watching TV when he swore he saw something walk past the sofa (We have a through lounge and diner). Never had any other experiences here, the flat itself was built in 2006 and was previously an office block so no history surrounding the land as far as I know. Both of these incidents happened shortly before my first ever psychic visit (which was the biggest crock of crud I have EVER experienced) but if I had to hazard a guess I would think it was my Grandad who died on Christmas day 2007.
All that said, I don't claim to be a believer in ghosts. I've had experiences that lead me to believe it's possible but I don't dismiss the fact that there could be rational explanations. No one yet knows the full ability or function of our brains.
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

I'd really like if those who don't believe in ghosts and such like could come back to offer an opinion about some of these experiences?
(Mine especially.)

Have really enjoyed reading this thread, I was a complete non-believer until rented an old house years ago, very strange things used to happen, pictures flying off walls - not dropping, actually falling a good few feet from the wall. Noises, footsteps, the feeling that someone was in the room with you, and sudden cold. After we had lived there for about 4 months we mentioned to one of the neighbours and she suggested we looked up the history of the buildings, long time before "google" so we went to the library and local museum to discover that our cosy little cottage was where they held the criminals who were awaiting judgement by Judge Jeffries and it was actually linked by an undergroung passage to the place he held his "hearings". Needless to say I didn't stay much longer - it really freaked me and I an a level headed, sensible person who always thought this stuff was nonsense.0

alot of people when they die the spirit goes to the place that has the most memoires for them
Interesting you say this. Since I moved with family in our flat, I feel the building loves all of us. We ve had many challenging situations with outside people and there was always a feeling that some "being" had guided us what to do or avoid. Though we own a flat we have also our own huge garden and we keep it like a jungle, it has several very tall trees ... and one day in the garden I discovered an entrance to something that looked a bunker! The steps are covered in roots and debris, with heaps of brocken victorian pottery and little old strange glass bottles..ok picture taken of my house 2 years ago
I see the smaller window overlooks trees/houses, the larger one above the front of the front door, faces open space; may be the house is on a slope high up?"I'll be back."0 -
Ok then here’s my story, the sceptics will say I was dreaming, maybe I was as I can’t prove otherwise, however I still remember this vividly and it was very real at the time.
We were staying in an apartment in Majorca, our room had twin beds with a table in between them.
I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a guy at the bottom of my partner’s bed staring down at him, he was wearing a long cloak with a hood, he had a long nose and a pointed face.
What happened was over in a matter of seconds but I remember each movement clearly. I saw him looking down at my partner, I looked down at my partner, saw he was sleeping soundly, looked back at the man, to find he had turned his head and he was looking straight at me, he knew I could see him. A few seconds later he just faded away. At no time did I feel scared.
I’d love to know if he was real or just a figment of my imagination!0 -
Ok to the 'non-believers' My 8 year old daughter saw her grandad just after he passed. She described what he was wearing (not a conventional suit) and she described exactly the outfit he was buried in. She did not go to the funeral (he was buried in Ireland) and hadn't seen him for months before he passed.
Go on, try and destroy the comfort that that gives an 8 year old child and other believers. Fact is you cannot prove they do not exist as much as I cannot prove to others why I believe.
Life is not black and white despite what you may like to believe, you cannot prove your beliefs as much as I cannot prove mine. So try seeing things from other peoples point of view or stop making ridiculous arguments.0 -

Well, thats not really very fair - how could anyone possibly know what happened if they weren't there? Its impossible to have an 'opinion'.
Theres a wide range of explanation I personally would consider before concluding that it must be the spirit of a dead person from beyond the grave, trying to communicate with the living. Most of them have to do with the fallibility of the human brain and human perception. To me its akin to saying, 'my neighbours haven't put their bin out - they must be on the moon!' - its a huge leap.0
