Thanks - I hope so too, feel really rough
I got hose scales once when they were on sale at Argos:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8321846/Trail/searchtext%3EWEIGHT+WATCHERS+SCALES.htm
They were half price at the time - frankly nothing special... just basic scales would do me fine as never use the "functions"... but they were on half price and worked cheaper then ordinary scales so got them at the time....
Right, stuffed myself with pills, got tea with lemon and honey and off to bed.. snif snif...0 -
Right - as I am having some masohistic thoughts... found one group of the SW that is the closest to me (distance) BUT have no other way of getting there but to WALK (about 35 min) as taking a bus would take longer...LOL 2 busses each way, cost/time waiting = not worth taking the bus.
They hold meeting on Wednesdays (so tomorrow) at 5:15 or 7pm.
The offer od "just £10" to join has been extended till 31st Dec (I suspect it is always on but...)....
Should I? Shouldn't I?
Coudl always borrow that tenner for tomorrow...hmmmmmm
The location of the group got that extra benefit of extra over 1 hour walk (there and back) LOL0 -
Ok - I am off to see the book and work out my breakfasts (a start) for a week.0

I say go for it! The 1 hour walk there and back will only help:D:j0 -
Havent joined in much here after my first post (procastinating, me? never!)
But being at mums with her new dog and getting a pedometer for Xmas I am amazed how far you actually have to walk to get your 10,000 steps in,or more I guess if you want to lose weight?.
I really cant see a way I could fit this in to my everyday life how do people do it???
Over the past few days I have done between 6-7000 a day but thats with a good 2-2 1/2 hour dog walk which includes stopping for sniffs, the dog, not me!
I dont have time for that when I'm at work and even with everyday walks to tube and home (er.. back and forth to work printer).
I have one of those Tony Little Gazelles at home, time to stop using it as a clothes horse I guess.
Also going to make an effort to join SW need to check out my nearest club although not back in time to get the £10 to join offer though.
YDSMI wish I would take my own advice!0 -
You wil be surprised... I worde pedometer to work (when I was working) and was surprised to clock 6-7000 per day between living home and coming back home. I used public transport so walking to/from/between bus stops and at wrok where although I had an office based job I still had a bit of walking.
So the 4000 to make up the 10000 was done just with the dog.....
Hope you have a decent pedometer, one that does not "count steps" when you just shake it about in your hand?
Still feeling really rough myself, grrrrrrr0 -
I might get my pedometer out and try that too. I live in the middle of nowhere though so going out for walks in this weather is horrible because everywhere is cold, dark and muddy all the time.
Maybe we could do mini challenges every week to support/encourage each other with the exercise/fitness side of things? I don't know just small stuff like do X amount over your 10,000 steps a day 2/3 times a week or something? I don't know, just thinking out loud and wondering if that would help on top of the singles on a budget diet support:j0 -
Did not go to SW meeting.
1) No pint going when I have no cash for fees/shopping now
2) Found another SW book at home
3) Feel rough still
Walking challenge sounds good, I too live in the middle of nowhere (although still classed as London) but I got my mutt to take out and a piar of wellies.....
7340 steps today but now I am off to bed, feel like dying - runny nose, pains and aches all over... sigh... what is it for cold? 7 days?0 -
Aha wellies! Now that's a good idea
Hope you feel better soon x:j0 -
