Finally found a GP that knows about the exercise referral scheme today. My blood pressure is fine (well, considering it's always up when I go to the doctors, it's still within normal range). And I only looked mildly hungover, so she believed me when I said I don't smoke and I don't drink excessively. Seeing as I turned up wearing all black, leather jacket, eye makeup smudged and my hair going pooooooooffff, I suppose she had to ask.
I've grown an inch and a bit taller since starting yoga.
And I'm actually obese. She looked a bit disapproving since I was pleased. Although, when I explained that's actually a big drop from well within the morbidly obese range, she conceded actually that is a very good thing, particularly with the vast amounts of steroids I have.
So not too bad a start to the day!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I was always told that its normal to plateau when losing weight, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. You've done really well so far.gettingready wrote: »Me too- need more discipline and some variety in my food - if you look at my food diary I eat same things every single day and bored out of my mind BUT I am so poor right now that I simply can afford to buy more variety of food stuff and... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Know what you mean about variety. I can get so bored of my diet sometimes but there is no way I can afford anything else at the moment. I was wandering about the supermarket earlier and realised that the prices of some of my staples had gone up again. I put most of them back. I'll have to have a think about whether I can afford to keep them as a staple or if I'll have to try something else.
I know there are lots of threads on the oldstyle board about cutting grocery costs but most rely on either bulk cooking which means eating the same thing over and over again as my freezer is tiny or bulking out on cheap carbs which I don't want to rely on because I don't personally think that a carb heavy diet is that nutritious.0 -
I may not be able to do the GP referral exercise - due to start a new job, waiting for a start date... such a pity0

Hi...just picking up on what you're saying about batch cooking...i live alone and have a small box freezer at the top of my fridge. i try to batch cook 1 thing every 1 or 2 weeks and freeze the stuff in freezer bags which makes them easier to shove into the tiny freezer. if i do this, i generally at any one time have chilli con carne, bolognese, beef curry, salmon fillets, stuff like that in the freezer. all i have to do is cook the rice/pasta/potatoes or whatever to go with them. i also love a baked potato from time to time which is really cheap and easy to make.Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):

I batch cook occasionally - well a normal family sized meal for 1. Split it into 3 or 4 portions. Have one then, have 1 a couple days later and either freeze one or take it into work for a lunch. I share a freezer in a shared house and have 1 shelf to myself, but sometimes use the 2nd shelf as my housemates dont freeze as much as me!
If you do have say lots of bolognaise left over you can turn it into chilli con carne with the right spices and kidney beans! Well if you originally make it from scratch you can. So leftover dont have to be boring
I also find when I really fancy pizza and they're on offer I get Pizza Express's Sloppy Guiseppe - 580 calories per pizza, and it fills me up. That's about how much I have for dinner anyway! Or I make pitta pizzas (cut the top part of pitta off leaving a crust, toast for 5 minutes, add chopped tomatoes mixed with herbs/spices after you've boiled it down, add a bit of cheese and toppings)
Hmm I fancy pizza now dammit! lol0 -

Ooooo, short 32 cal and got this message - first time:*Based on your total calories consumed for today, you are eating too few calories. Not only is it difficult to receive adequate nutrition at these calorie levels, but you could also be putting your body into starvation mode. Starvation mode lowers your metabolism and makes weight loss more difficult. We suggest increasing your calorie consumption to 1,200 calories per day minimum.0
