I've found I have a slight quirk in that if I eat breakfast I actually feel hungrier as the day progresses! If I don't bother with it then I can quite happily get to midday without even a twinge of hunger. If I eat anything before midday however I then feel likely devouring the kitchen cupboards.
Does this happen for anyone else. I feel bad skipping breakfast because I've been told time and time again that (say it with me people:rotfl:) 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day' but I really don't like eating it and I
Same with me and breakfast - and yes heard it millions of times to eat breakfast BUT each time I do I am starving all day (and night) sigh....0 -
Can I recommend NOT doing 20 miles on a bike after you've just eaten your roast dinner??! :rotfl: I feel sick now _pale_ :rotfl::j0

But feeling hungry is good, because that means your metabolism is working. Not eating breakfast will slow it down and burn calories a lot slower. Once you get use to eating breakfast, like I have, you find you will get use to the feeling of wanting to eat. It also depends what you eat. If I have protein for breakfast, it never makes me hungry, but cereal can make me more hungry, so I have a piece of fruit mid morning before lunch.0 -
I have eaten a mini dairy milk bar and it was lovely and within my calories and I still have a couple of calories left which could equal another bar.:D:D:D or it could be a hot chocolate with mini marshmallows......
Breakfast. If I eat cereal I get hungry within a couple of hours. So I have to eat something else as well or build in a snack to eat. A boiled egg keeps me going and full for a bit longer, or porridge.
Done my meal plan for next week and breakfasts are like this:
Monday : Porridge and banana
Tuesday : Yoghurt, banana, crackerbread with butter and jam
Wednesday : wheat flakes and babybel cheese
Thursday : wheat flakes and babybel
Friday : porridge (this may change because my menu for this day isn't good calorie wise as it includes chips!:))
Saturday : Banana, yoghurt and babybel
Sunday : wheatflakes and crackerbread, butter and jam
I like crackerbread because I can pretend it's toast because its crunchy.:rotfl:0 -
Thanks for posting everyone....
Xoxo - LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL leave the bike alone
Sharon - how long does it take to get used to having breakfast?????
Cl=rumblepie - I love porridge, just will probably vary the fruits between days... yum yummmm0 -
OK, started with a coffe (ful fat milk, 2 sugars) then oats with pear and cinamon and by now I am up to 415 cal with 899 left for today as got a bit from the dog walk exercise....
How is everyone else doing today?0 -
Back at work today came back to a HUGE bar of chocolate on my desk which I had one chunk of it and gave the rest away.
Lunch was mushrooms on toast which was scrummy.
I have also learnt that peppermint tea is no replacement for fags, I havent wanted one the whole time I have been off but now it is killing me!!!
YDSMI wish I would take my own advice!0 -
So far so good - breakfast and lunch to plan and dinner will be the last of the pie/hotpot thing I made. I stepped on the scales and the haven't budged but I'm not disheartened.... my official weigh in is on wednesday. I've done level one of the 30 day shred - I've been doing this for a couple of weeks now and it's not making me want to fall down in a heap as much any more.
gettingready - cinnamon porridge. I love cinnamon and that would be good, never thought of that though.
Honestly-I'm-not-counting-calories-in-a-manic-way BUT I've switched to sweetener in my coffee. I drink vast quantities - maybe 8 mugs a day and I am logging this and each mug, milk, one real sugar is 40 calories but with sweetener it's 20. Which gives me a few calories to sneak in a small bar of chocolate or treat........:rotfl:0 -
Love my porridge with grated pear (got to be very ripe) and cinamon yum yum...
slim fast mikshake for lunch - yuk.... but got no food to speak off at home and going to tesco tomorrow so have to make do with whatever I got in0
