Arranged to do a present drop this afti - three hours' catch up with my oldest friend...we met in 1975. It's so much nicer than the usual rushed Christmas Eve mega-drop. Only got one present drop left to do, and DS has asked if we can do our annual Lidl shop tomorrow. I've told him, if he gets up before the shops shut!!!! we can go. (He got up at 10 to 5 today)

We've just decluttered bacon and egg butties nom nom....his breakfast, my tea lol

ajmoney, don't let me forget about the garden design books if no-one else answers you. No time to do it today but I do have some suggestions.

I will do my best to remember!

We haven't managed to get into the festive spirit yet, it hasn't even arrived and I have asked DH if he fancies going away for the next one! I have only had 1 Christmas completely away from my family and 1 where I didn't go there until boxing day, the rest of my 32 years I have either been there already or turned up at some point on Christmas Day. I didn't enjoy the completely away year but that was the first and I was away working with people I didn't know that well so when we talked about going away this year I shied away. However our families won't come to us for Christmas Day so if we want to see anyone we have to go to them and I am a bit sick of it. Even now we will be spending the next week going to see everyone as no-one is coming to us. DH and I love going on holiday so I think that is what we will do next year. I guess I am just feeling quite down about it all...sorry to get anyone down but I am trying to keep my feelings hidden from DH. Maybe tomorrow things will be better.

Anyway...I have one thing left to do on my list and as we are only eating a small bird it doesn't need to come out of the freezer until tomorrow but I lost a day earlier fretting that we hadn't taken it out as it was on the list until DH reminded me that we still have 2 days!!!! :rotfl:
Friday - Are we ready yet?
Take the turkey out of the freezer to defrost! Not having turkey here, goose, duck or partridge we are deciding tomorrow and will take out then

Ok that's it I'm back, I can't cope without my daily FL fix and my house is almost beyond rescue!

We've just had to redo the flooring that took us weeks last time, this time it was 3 days one last week and 2 this week but it's down and done! Less time likely because nothing was put away properly from the time before leaving less to pack as we could see it would need redoing. Floors here are really springy so the laminate split, got 5mm ply under it now and hoping it won't

Pupster has been bad with conjunctivitis, unfortunately no better from his expensive drops so I'll be back tomorrow with him.

Right now I've got an entire house to sort out, there are bits of wood and tools everywhere, boxes of stuff everywhere, boys room and toy room are the only tidy/clean spots but that's a start. We've rented a garage for the storage of junk and clutter so we can sort for boot sales we hope. Oh I did blitz the fridge and freezer so that's done

Ok mission starts tonight, first task .... HHC 9.45-10.15 in which I plan to

Remove all last bits of wood into a pile
    Clear boxes from lr/dr floor
    Sweep lr/dr floor
Sort food box and put on top of FF
    Start shopping list for tomorrow
    Clear boxes from hallway
One day I might be more organised...........

I have done the littlies bedroom. Hooray!!! They helped because FC doesn't deliver to untidy rooms.

AJmoney I feel for you. My parents had a torrid time in my childhood with my father's parents. It was always just the 5 of us. Mum Dad and 3 kids.

My side of the family are coming to us on Christmas day. We have a spare house (in laws) for people to stay over but everyone is "my turn to drive" and going home. My sister has a legitimate reason not to drink (pregnant) but my alcoholic SIL hates me so much she is driving. I'm feeling rather under appreciated. I will let the drivers cook their own dinner while I get stuck into the Champagne. I don't feel the slightest bit guilty. I had a rotten time last year with my fractured hand. If SIL wants to stay sober I will let her get in with it.

Gin and tonic is in glass. Happy to share!. Cheers everyone!

Mumto5 and AJ - hope you both have a fantastic Christmas and you wonder what you were mithering about!

You all have a little list for tomorrow even though it's Saturday!

I've just been to MrAs to get my last bits for tea tomorrow - those of you who don't know - I go to my parent's for Christmas dinner but everyone comes here Christmas Eve tea so there'll be 11 of us tomorrow night. LR is done apart from a few bits of clothes to take upstairs and so is the bathroom - just got to do kitchen and DR tomorrow and the kids need to finish their bedrooms. I've still got some wrapping to do but DH is at home as well so he'll be doing some of the jobs.
