DH's 12.30 meeting in Yorkshire was cancelled So he was home by 2.45. We had a cup of tea together then launched a major assault on operation put everything away in Master Bedroom. 30 mins later mission was accomplished so we rewarded ourselves with another cup of tea. I lead a very exciting life!!!

Took the littlies and Jammy James to see Arthur Christmas this morning. It was very funny.

I also went to the C A B to ask for advice about DS1's wages that he hasn't been paid. Very helpful lady dealt with monosyllabic son - I swear I could explode with exasperation he was spectacularly unhelpful to the poor woman. I sent him out to check on the littlies who were colouring in the waiting room and gave the lady a printed sheet of all the info she needed.

I still have a zillion presents to wrap. I might bung a sack in the car and do them at work tomorrow morning. How do I get the said presents in the car:

tonight - they may freeze / car may be broken into (has happened 2 times before)
Tomorrow - they will see them!

    Decisions....
  • Evening

Have not done very much at all today, just swish and swipes really. We still have no heating and the landlady doesn't seem to be doing much about it. I took the boys to the library this morning after my WW meeting because it was warm, and then this afternoon I sat with DS1 (who is coughing his lungs out poor thing) under a blanket on the sofa watching TV and making paper chains. I have a cold that is lingering and am incredibly snotty. Just feeling pretty fed up and miserable tbh. Not even buying 6 nail polishes on Amazon with a voucher has cheered me up!

But, most of my wrapping is done, I just have to add ribbon to a few as I'd run out, and do one of OH's that arrived today and they're finished. I also marzipanned the cake and burned off a Christmas CD this eve, so 2 more things off my to-do list. Tomorrow we have the playgroup xmas party and then I'm going to attempt DIY gel nails  and maybe dye my hair if we have hot water by then :( But I have the morning to catch up with flying which should keep me warm at least.

  • Evening all!

Just wanted to quickly fly in and say hello :j

Since eating a full Jamaican ginger cake on Sunday I haven't completed much flying at all! I told my OH the cake had an adverse effect :D

Tonight I have done two loads of washing, a load in the DW and then spent the night slumming it on the sofa! :D

At this point I think I'm in need of a virtual kick up the backside and then a hug!!! :rotfl:

Hope to do some flying tomorrow (must try harder!) :A
  • (((hugs)))... but not too close :p ...to all poorly people, hope the lurgey is banished very soon.

Well the flylady positive vibes sure are powerful........

I got the job I interviewed for today

I have me a full-time job - with prospects - starting after the Christmas/New Year break

    :j:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::beer::j:j:j:j

So now I REALLY need to get my backside in gear before noon on Christmas Eve... lovely break with various family for a week... then a few days of backside in gear again before the 3rd Jan.

Thanks ladies for good wishes and inspiration :T:T

    BB xx

Quick update for me. I'm having one of those "too much to do and not enough time to do it in" weeks. Where has the past two days gone?:eek: I know I ended up spending 6 hours stripping and then re-trimming the Christmas tree after the oldest set of lights blew and I had no spare bulbs that fit, I also know that none of the spare bulbs my mum has fit as I remember raiding them in the past :rotfl: Instead, with a bit of jiggling I managed to put some bargain lights I bought last Xmas from A*da on the tree and it looks much better :D Downside is I lost 6 hours that could have been spent doing housework or making the Christmas pressies that need to be made. :(

Struggling already to make progress but I'm getting there very very slowly.

Monday - kitchen and dining room
    Level one
Clear and sweep/mop/hoover the floors - vacuumed but will need doing again before the end of the week!
Clear work surfaces and table - Working on clearing the backlog of dishes first! I swear they're breeding
    Level Two
Wipe the work surfaces - happening regularly, but only the one I prep on, need to clear all the others before I can do them.
    Clear and clean window sills
15 minutes wiping anything that is grubby - TD/WM/Shelves
    Level three
    Clean hob
Make sure you have everything bought/ordered/list made for the weekend. - list made, just need to go and buy it now.

Tuesday - Living Room, hall, downstairs loo, any other downstairs rooms you've missed

    Level One
[STRIKE] Declutter floors even if it's just into a box or binbag to hide away.[/STRIKE]
Sweep/mop/hoover floors and stairs - Just need to do the stairs and vacuum again after DD has finished making the Xmas cards tomorrow
    Level Two
    Dust all dusty areas
Last minute check on presents - have you got everything? - No! I still need to go buy stuff & make stuff as well!:eek:
    HH wrap :rotfl::rotfl:
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]Straighten Christmas tree[/STRIKE]
    HH me time

    • Make sure you have all the shopping you need to take you through to next week.. milk and bread especially! It is Boxing Day on Monday and Bank Holiday Tuesday so some shops are not open.. the big supermarkets are. - Work in progress, I have a list, I just need to go buy it!
    • Make sure the last of the presents are wrapped!
    • [STRIKE]Have we located stockings?[/STRIKE] Done & dusted weeks ago ;):D
    • [STRIKE]Make sure your timetable for christmas day is sorted and everyone knows their tasks.. who is spud peeling? Who is stuffing the bird etc..? [/STRIKE]- All down to me, DD can set the table since there's only the two of us :)
    • Get out any special Christmas crockery and placemats - make sure it is all clean and ready for use.
      • Personal
        • Make 20 gifts
        • Sort & wrap school photos
        • Write cards
DD is around until 11am Xmas eve when she'll then go out with her dad for a few hours and I need to run to the shops then to get the very last minute things (fruit for the stockings, and anything I've forgotten, maybe even an emergency pressie or two if my order doesn't arrive soon ) so I'm going for a 6pm finish instead of midday as I know I'll loose at least an hour in the shop if not a lot longer! At this point it should just be a case of chase DD in the bath & to bed, then sort out the pressies for her :D I do however have a horrible feeling I will be wrapping pressies that night as well as I have that many other things to get done :o

Ironing challenge is being moved forward for me, I need it done by Xmas Eve night as DD is going away Boxing day and needs the stuff thats in it :rotfl: Thats just another item to add to my list  So this week:

Wednesday: Club, shopping? Deliveries 6pm, ironing?
Thursday: Order in for work, shopping if not done Wednesday, Ironing?
Friday: Finish ALL gifts & wrap (:rotfl:) , ironing
Saturday: Last minute shopping & wrapping, sort DD's bag for going away, gather gifts for X's family from DD and bag them up ready to go with her. Ironing?
    Sunday : XMAS
    Monday: DD away (morning/lunch time?)

Right, well I best shift myself off to bed. I only got 4 hours last night and I need more than that if I'm going to get through the next few days :rotfl:

    Morning All

    Congratulations Bonnie - brilliant news!

Going to see Arthur Christmas this morning, meeting a friend there and swapping presents so killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Other than that not a lot happening so I'm hoping to get some jobs done starting with stripping the bed when I get out of it! Woke up coughing at a ridiculous time again so I might see if I can go back to sleep for another hour first or I'm going to be shattered later on again.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

    Morning all

Jue you are up early today.

Mumto5 get well vibes for you

Bonnie congratulations, I hope you love your new job

    WM and DW emptied.

Woody has had another fight. Not sure of the damage yet as he is in the basket by the AGA looking sorry for himself. He is going to have to stay in at night I fear.

Failed to get 50th present yesterday for this afternoon so back to the shops this morning with only that task in mind. Off out to afternoon tea at a country estate place later for said birthday which should be lovely.

Ice skating tomorrow so hoping my hip improves by then, it's not having a good few days.

An hour of governor paperwork now before anybody wakes up and a list update.

Well I did manage to grab another hour's sleep but I'm up now and the bed is stripped. So WM and TD on, dishes put away and I'm just about to clean the kitchen windowsill so I can put the plants back that I took off yesterday. Then I think I'm going to do some ironing while watching a bit of TV. Well we'll see how the plan goes!
