  • Just thought I'd share a good site for walkers/runners/riders. Its mapmyrun. You can plan your walks etc

Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!
  • Four weeks of 2012 completed, four pounds lost.
I've been marking up my original post (#252) each week but thought I'd have a fresh post for monthly progress.

This has just been about reduced food consumption, not yet really increased activity levels. Greater calorie expenditure may happen in April when I have a birthday and will probably retire from paid work and do more physical housework.
  • To my complete lack of surprise I'm up a bit this week. Between time ofthe month and the junk food I've been eating in the last few days I'm surprised it's by as little as it is. I'm up 0.1kg /0.2 lbs. Making my total weight loss 5.3 lbs.

I've been watching them all - Fat Families, A year to save my life, Biggest Loser (UK and USA but not the australian one as I cannot understand the accents!).

I use them as incentives to get on my cross trainer during the ad breaks.

But another lb today - so thats 9lb so far!

All you great people on here seem to know what you're doing, so I'm hoping you can give me some advice. I'm currently 83kg, but have no goal. I just want to loose weight. I do go to the gym, and use the wii (I seem to get a better workout from this, than I do the gym). What I'm looking for is, healthier eating. Because of work, I can't get to the gym 'til after 6, so I'm not eating until round about 8. I do like a few pints of beer, once a fortnight, and don't want to give this up, as I cut down drastically, and did lose weight (visibly, as I never got weighed). The main problem is meals for lunch at work. I do like rice, and mushrooms. Really, what I'm asking, is are there any websites with healthy menu's that can be trusted. I don't want to join any slimming club, as I don't have the time for meetingsu, and can't afford it. Hope someone can advice me.

Not sure about any free websites, but common sense is usually your best tool when it somes to healthy eating. Also, let your kitchen scales become your best friend. I never had a particularly bad diet before. I mostly cooked from scratch, ate plenty of fruit and veg, didn't go in for the pastries, but the portion sizes I ate were huuuuuuuge!! Especially for rice and pasta. Check to portion sizes on the side of the packets and stick to it - I found I was eating about three times as much in one sitting as I should have been just because I wasn't measuring it out properly.
    Hope that helps!

100 Family dinners for under 500 calories. Some are a bit yuk, but there is plenty there to chose from. I have made a few recipies, portioned and warmed them up for lunch.
