Hello I'd like to join too!
I lost 5 stone in 2008, on here with the help of Murphythecat's thread, don't know if he is still around? Anyway I also gave up smoking 15 months ago, was a heavy smoker 40 plus a day:eek: and some weight has crept back on abt a stone, was trying last year to lose it but the scales just kept going up! Seems very hard to lose this weight, yet when I had loads to lose...............Determined this time, on Monday the scales said 11.6 and three quarters! Now saying 11.3, have seriously reduced my portions! I am aiming to see 10 stone by February! I am 47 and 5.7.:)0 -
aaroncaz, i know how you feel. I managed to lose some weight, but then quit smoking 16 months ago and put on 2st
Finding it REALLY hard to shift the weight since quitting smoking! I have heard that its quite common, as nicotine increases your metabolism?0 -

All I know is when I had loads to lose, it was coming off on average 3lb a week, did wonder if it's my age now.....plus I remember on Murphys thread back in 2008 there was someone who only needed to lose a stone, and it came off so slow!! Sometimes only half a lb a week!! I like the 3lb a week loss! Weigh-in next Monday doing ok so far, will see if these reductions are doing the trick, even brought weight watchers bread yesterday, this is for work lunches if I'm at home, then Rivita and Houmous.0
