Yes it is the thread that was stickied.I guess it went to Game Over after a period of time once compers looked to be aware of the contents x
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -

ah well, seems as the thread by bonnie has been locked & the discussion is ended as usual when anyone tries anything new
perhaps might be a good idea to reinstate the sticky for future guidelinesplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

looks like the discussion will be continuing in the discussion thread rather than the main board.Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

I think there's been a rather big hint that there's to not be any discussion whatsoever on the topic. :rotfl:
Apologies everyone, I had no intention of starting a kerfuffle (though I thought everyone was being perfectly civilised)! I'm out.Hmmmm, need new siggie :cool:0 -

as you say there's a big hint !! there's no discussion to be had now, the old ones ways must be obeyed :rotfl::D

The twitter flash comps highlights a general problem with FLASH comps.
A rough definition would be those that close in 24 hours or less (from time of announcement)
Many of the twitter comps mean you have to 'follow' as well, and having a list of expired allows you to tidy up and 'unfollow' (as previously noted)
If the thread gets too long, start a fresh one weekly.
Alternatively, have a twitter account for comps. Those on twitter can 'list' the account and pull up a complete twitter fest of comps next time they are on twitter.
I'm glad the discussion started on the main board, otherwise I would have missed it.0 -

I thought so too - just catching up on the discussion & had spotted a couple of twitter comps running today only so went straight to your great new thread to add them... only to find it's already been closed
I post these kind of comps fairly often and always wonder whether it's really worth cluttering up the board with a new thread that's only valid for a few hours or at most a day. I would have thought a single thread to collect them all together would be much better, but evidently that's not to be the "done thing"!
I also notice that when I update a regulars thread like a weekly twitter comp almost nobody sees it (or at least the thanks rarely run into double figures), but if I post a link to it from the main board then it generally gets seen by 100-200 people. But then my "link" thread on the main board often gets merged back into the regulars thread which makes for very confusing reading at times! Still, nobody has told me not to & by the thanks numbers it seems a lot of people prefer it so what the heck!
Thanks for everyone's contributions anyway, including the negatives - it's worth seeing how different people approach the same issue as it might help in future or lead to inspiration which doesn't get closed off quite so quickly!0
