I 'believe' although I am not 100% sure that the low stars have to be from unique users- so 3 lots of 1 or 2 * from the same person will count only once.
3* and above do not count as a strike on the expanded dashboard, only 1s and 2sI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. "Mind you I would already be mistrusting a seller who charged £5 for a 600 gramme item, as even 1st class would only be £3.05 so I would already be expecting to be taken for a bit of a ride on postage."
Depends how it's packed really, I used to have custom made cardboard mailers for box sets costing nearly 3 times what a normal box would cost. Stronger to protect the goods and from my side quicker to pack. A buyer complaining of my P&P charges would probably be told somewhere we can all buy some boxes in Poundland....
I don't think it is possibly to pass any judgement on the P&P charge until it's been delivered and the buyer see how it was sent, how much the stamp cost was if visible and how it was packed.
"What would you charge for delivery? "
What did you buy?
"The original agreement was that the buyer purchased 4 items and paid 4 individual postage charges. In return the seller would send 4 individual items to the buyer."
It all depends, if a seller has high P&P on an auction, chances are it would sell for less. So if there are two auctions, one at 4.99 with 4.99 P&P and one at 4.99 with 1.99 P&P and you bid to pay £10 over all (which is the item's average worth), does it matter what the P&P is? If you purchased 4 items at the same prices as above the guy charging 4.99 isn't going to give much of a discount because part of the price of the goods is in the P&P.
I personally would pick a better seller but again it's hard to judge what to expect if shopping with sellers deliberately overcharging, as if you don't like it, don't bid and find an honest seller. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

I suppose i could have chosen a different seller but the items spec's seemed to fit what i needed and the auction ended very
soon after i spotted them. They did have a similar item but different make, But that sold as i was reading the description.
Then clicked see sellers other items and spotted the 4 items i bought.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Who Me?
So you don't think the 1 or 2 * being left are a problem for a seller at all? All those people then who have been posting on community boards and a few on here and have been restricted to a lower limit of sales due to poor performance are imaging it- I am sure they will be pleased to know that.
Obviously you are entitled to your opinion but I would continue to urge sellers to watch their expanded dashboard and those numbers of low stars left in each category.
At the very least need to be aware that if they trade as a private seller and fall below standard they can't use free listings days until they improve, that seems to upset a number of people who had previously been completely unaware of the importance of their stars.
Here you are inblack and white:
Avoid potential selling restrictions and limitations by visiting the Performance tab on your Seller Dashboard to get a quick overview of your performance.Open and unresolved buyer protection cases impact your seller standard status. If too many cases are opened against you or you have too many transactions with low detailed seller ratings, you could fall below standard and potentially face selling restrictions and limitations.

Nice strawman, but let's stick to what you actually said, shall we? Of course if you get consistently low stars, your account will be restricted, and rightly so - get rid of the rubbish sellers. But to say that 3 low stars = account restriction is alarmist nonsense, if you are an otherwise good, consistent seller. It is the % of low stars that matters, not the number. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

Just read the links as the expanded seller dashboard is there for a reason- and if you are a seller you will note that it shows the number of 1 and 2 * left in each category for the past year (unless you are a large enough seller to have 3 monthly reviews) . By each of the categories it shows a number and a percentage- please note the number that you are 'allowed' before it can potentially start to cause you problems.
Many sellers make the mistake of only looking at their headline stars and think that as long as they maintain 4.6 or more in each they are absolutely fine. That is not the case, it is quite possible to be restricted even with very good headline feedback and stars- if you have too many 1 or 2 *s in any category.
Why do you think so many of us sellers post on here mentioning how worried we have bene to get a 1 or 2 * from a buyer?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am well aware of the impact of low stars, thanks, as a silver powerseller and TRS. Again, I repeat, it is the % not the number that matters. You are probably not a big enough volume seller to have experienced this for yourself, but I can assure you that it's true. I currently (unfortunately) have 5 low stars in 1 category - having had a bad month in Oct when I had a family crisis and dispatch slipped a bit - but I am still below the 0.5% and so it has had no impact on my TRS. None. Zip. Zilch.
I agree perhaps that the eBay guides may read a little ambiguously - giving the impression that 3 bad stars can get your account restricted - but I am just trying to give the "what actually happens" view (which doesn't seem that popular on this board for various reasons).
ETA: PS for the benefit of other readers - one of your links doesn't work, perhaps you could ammend it.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
So basically then you do actually agree with the statement in post 22 where I said :For a normal seller as few as 3 low stars in the p and p category in the course of a year can equal restriction.
and where I have mentioned again later for 'smaller' sellers, ie those that are on a yearly review might be affected.
I therefore still stand by my statement but accept that if you start adding conditions like 'power sellers, TRs, large turnover' etc then other posters need to note my use of the word 'might' . Ebay also say the same thing as per my post above.
or you have too many transactions with low detailed seller ratings, you could fall below standard and potentially face selling restrictions and limitations.
So I still suggest that sellers need to keep an eye on their own expanded seller dashboards as for those who have a lower turnover and who are on yearly reviews (like me) Getting too many stars in any one category 'can' lead to restriction as per ebay. A private seller only has to drop to below standard for instance to lose the ability to list on a free listing day.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
