I have posted this elsewhere, but......

    4 peppers
    2 onions
    couple of thumbs of ginger
    stock
    bit of S & P

SC it to within an inch of it's life, then get your stick blender (Braun, obviously:D) on it with a couple of tbs of sugar and a few of balsamic.

Sweet and sour sauce :j :j

oops - forgot. One pineapple :D:D

Good job I check these things
:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood
  • I bought 5 green peppers today in Asda for 10p! I thought I would slice them and freeze them as they were such a good price. However, I wondered if you guys had any better ideas!

    Any suggestions considered.

    Many thanks

I use about 5 peppers per week. I add them to:

    Sausage casseroles
    Spagetti Bolognese
    Chinese Stir Fries
Roasted Veggies (part of a tray full)
    Chopped salads with Cous Cous
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D
  • Stuff them with a rice mixture of rice, pine nuts, sultanas and onions or a mince/bolognese.
    TL
  • Use some for pizza toppings (split baguette in half lengthways, spread with tomato puree, add onions, mushrooms, peppers, grated cheese, sliced tomato, put in medium hot oven for about 10 - 15 mins)

    Raw - dip in houmous

    Diced and added to chilli

    Hi Dolly Mixture,

You might get some more ideas from this older thread: What can I do with green pepper?

The strong refreshing taste of green pepprs means they go well in chilli and curries.

If you can not use them all before they go soft, remove the stork bit, deseed them, wash and dry them and then you can freeze them to have available as and when you need them.

  • Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. I think we might be having stuffed peppers for dinner tomorrow! I could not get the link to "what can I do with green peppers" but I might try and search for it.

    Thanks again.
