Hi there,
You can do them in the oven or under the grill no probs - little cheffy tip, when you have a nicely blackened pepper take it out of the oven and put in a bowl and cover with cling film or into a plastic sandwich bag and tie off. Leave til it's cool enough to handle and the blackened skins will just slide off really easily.

I've just had a bag of peppers delivered by Mr S but instead of the mix of red and yellow peppers I was expecting I've got a bag of green ones. My kids will not eat raw green pepper, any ideas on how to use them? Can't bear the thought of them being wasted!0

Ditto.
Chop them up and freeze them, and then just add a handful to the above whilst cooking?
Stuffed peppers is also an option.
