  • I would freeze them - I just slice mine up wash them, put them in freezer bags and pop in the freezer. I don't blanch because they never taste the same

You could halve them lengthways and stuff them with chilli then bake in the oven :)

Found this which looks good http://www.greatbritishkitchen.co.uk/recipebook/index.php?option=com_rapidrecipe&page=viewrecipe&recipe_id=16&Itemid=28

See if someone local will swap whatever they have a glut of for a load of peppers :)

Give some to someone who you know that bakes/cooks and see if you get something scrummy in return ;)

I've pulled the last of my outdoor green Romano peppers and put them on a tray in the windowsill with some tomatoes which also need to ripen. I laid them all on newspaper to retain some heat and after a week the peppers have ripened. Putting them with some bananas or other ripe fruit in your fruit bowl might also help. Don't give up on them yet.

Asking for a friend who have a Neff induction hob and I am not a good cook either.

She have an aubergine and pepper recipes that calls to blacken the outer shell of the veg over open gas fire, however they have an induction hob and not sure how to do this. Can you blacken these vegs in electric oven without damaging it?

A couple of options. You could use a blowtorch to blacken the skins, if you have one. Otherwise, a reasonable compromise is to get a frying pan on the hob, get it really really hot, then "dry fry" them for a few seconds, turning them constantly. Won't be quite as good as doing it with a flame, but it should be near enough.

you can blacken peppers in the oven or under a grill, no need to do the trendy over the flame thing!
