We take a travel fridge with us for milk, yogurts etc, cold meat for sandwiches etc. That way, we can make our own breakfasts and snacks. We have also taken in McDonalds / KFC meals. And despite the fridge being in full view of the cleaners, nothing has every been said. We have a box, containing plates bowls cutlery etc ready to take (spent too much time in Travelodges lately!)

Too much hassle for us, we're elderly train travellers - anyway Wetherspoons is just the ticket for brekkie ,and like others we never have a problem bringing in takeaways.

I've never managed to unscrew any of their wretched windows with a scredriver - they need a special key.

OH says you need a star headed screwdriver - he has a multi-tool that he takes everywhere (i only use the bottle opener part tho lol)

Do you really unscrew the window?

I was thinking of taking a toaster for quick, cheap breakfast but was worried about smoke alarms. Would they go off?

We always take a toaster with us. We keep it nr the window and keep an eye on it, but have had no problems. The travelodges we have been to have even let us have a knife and fork when we forgot ours.

I read on the prev sale thread that someone takes a slow cooker and leaves it cooking for the day. I would be worried a bit about the steam from it, but it sounds like a brill idea, esp one of the argos £5 ish ones.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Except that it's Torx, not Pozidriv (which aren't star screwdrivers). :)

Does anyone know if room can be given/transferred to someone else. Just my luck out of all the dates I picked, I now have to work! I am self employed so can't turn down work.

    From the Travelodge website:

You cannot transfer or resell your booking (in whole or in part). If you transfer or resell (or attempt to transfer or resell) then Travelodge will terminate your booking and retain any money paid to us for such booking. We may also refuse to take any further booking from you in the future.

The only way round this seems to be to have someone pretend to be you!
