I haven't found an alternative to the 10p per minute number yet....... but their customer service email did work for me - I had accidentally booked the wrong night () and couldn't amend it as the night I wanted was a different price (????)
After a grovelling email to Customer Services they very kindly refunded me for £75 worth of incorrect nights.

I agree with the last poster about different numbers of people on arrival.....I think they can adjust things when you get there (as long as you're not asking for a completely different kind of room when the hotel is full.) The staff are usually great, very accomodating.:)

I was once stopped by the lady on the desk and told I couldn't take into my room a pack of Mr Kipling Cherry Bakewells. She said no food was allowed in the rooms.

I thought that was exceedingly bad.

Wow - that's a new one! We've never had the slightest problem taking full meals in!

We usually take a cool box in with us!

Very obvious lots of food in there but never had a problem. Couldn't use them if needing to eat out all the time.
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

Do you really unscrew the window?

I was thinking of taking a toaster for quick, cheap breakfast but was worried about smoke alarms. Would they go off?

I`ve never had a problem with food. In London, we often get a curry delivered to the hotel. Once it was delivered to the room, so the staff must have let them into the lift area.

    F

I've never managed to unscrew any of their wretched windows with a scredriver - they need a special key.

Their rooms are always impossibly hot from May to September because you can't open the windows more than a few cms at most, and I won't use Travelodge over those months for that reason alone. It can get easily reach 30 degrees or more in the rooms, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Does anyone know where you can get one of the keys? Or know of another way of opening the windows properly without damaging them?

I've just come back from a stay at Blackpool Central Travelodge and had a room with a window that opened fully! It still had a further divide that had to be opened, but they both worked fine. I'm wondering if it was because I was on the top (third) floor?
