Please can anyone recommend travelodges close to train stations in Devon and Cornwall? There is/was a very early train service that we can get in summer that goes south

Plymouth - 10 mins walk from station to travelodge.

Can anyone suggest any Travelodges that are within walking distance from stations.for those of us that do not drivve? I am looking to book a few trips away but as far as I know many of them are on or near motorways.

I don#t mind where I go, but would prefer a seaside town. I love a train journey so distance is no problem.

We stayed at Cardiff Central last July and it is very close to the train station.

  • Hi Guys,

As there were still plenty of TL sale rooms available, I went ahead and booked a few more ;)

I'm worried about one thing though. It wouldn't let me change the number of people staying to 2. The rooms are all double beds. My better half will be joining me and i'm concerned they won't let her stay.

Should I give them a call a week before the stay to let them know or is it better to write/email them? I'm taking the Mrs on our anniversary to Bath as she's always wanted to go - would they offer a quieter/room with a view if I let them know of this? It will be our first time staying at Travelodge, so not sure how accomodating they can be.

I have booked at, supposedly, the better TLs (Bath Waterside, London Southwark...)

Thank you and Happy New Year to you all :j

There`s no need to ring or write to them.
When you get to each TL explain that it may say only one adult is booked because their system wouldn`t let you change it to two adults at the time of booking.
All they will do is supply you with a second set of towels.
The bed you booked is a double so it makes no difference to them.

I use TL all the time up and down the country and I have always found the staff very obliging.

Go to say no to 0870 and then phone the Travelodge directly to tell them there will be a different amount of people coming than originally stated. Give them the confirmation number of your first night and they will correspondingly change the other nights. I would phone them if there are going to be more people. I booked a double with them once but was put into a single room. I was on my own so it was ok.

I concur, but if you are thinking about doing the Eye, South Bank and Imperial War Museum then Southwark or Waterloo are closer.

Having said that, price of the TL is probably the most important factor rather than distance and any central London TL will do as the transport system is so good and distances between the main tourist attractions are not vast. Don't forget kids travel free with Oyster card holders.
