Halifax Offering £100 To Switch To Them

My Halifax transfer is complete! The next two paychecks will be going in and then hopefulyy I'll get my £100.
However, my Natwest account has dissapeared frm my online banking
did I miss the small print where it says they close the other account? There's nearly a grand in there! I am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"0 -
I had 1 DD go wrong in the switching process for my council tax. From what I can gather HBOS tells the DD organisation your details have changed. The problem occurs when you are close to making a payment and the DD organisation does not have enough time to react.MiserlyMartin wrote: »HBOS said it was not them who cancelled it and blamed me or my bank.
Credit to Egg in all of this. They were the only organisation that wrote to me saying they had received details of the change too late to action for the next payment and I should use an alternative method of payment for that month (my CC balance was nil anyway).0 -

The £100. is paid at the end of the month following the second deposit, so in practice you have to put in 3 months deposit.
If you want to contact them use the call back serviceDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
I am planning to open one for me...
Is it necessary to deposit £1000 each month without withdrawing??
I can deposit £1000 each month but would be taking part of it back to my main bank... again £1000 in the next month and so on... is that fine??0 -

As long as you deposit £1000 each month, you can withdraw it the same day if you want, it is a case of running £1000 per month through the acc.
Don't forget that you have to use their switching service and swop over DDs/ SOs alsoDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Do I have option to choose which SO and DD to be transferred??
I have many SOs and DDs on my main bank account (which I don't want to close)..out of those I am planning to transfer only one SO (no DD)
Am I still eligible for £100 incentive?0 -

I haven't looked at the T&Cs for this offer, but the last one, which is the one I did, and I think they are the same, required you to use their switching service and transfer DDs and SOs, you can probably get away with just one DD/SO, as they send you a list of these and you can choose ones that you don't want to move, but as far as I know if you don't do that you will not get the £100.

Since the offer T&C's state you must switch your SO's and/or DD's, I wouldn't think so! :rolleyes:OH has a completely dormant current account with Lloyds so no DD or SO set up.
To qualify for the £100, can he switch from the dormant account without doing anything
Last time around I just set up 3 x £10 SO's to savings accounts, let them go out once from the 'dormant' account, and then switched these. Personally I wouldn't set up (and switch) just one SO in case Halifax tighten up on abuse of the offer.or quickly put some money in and set up a fictitious SO before getting the Halifax forms to fill?
That's your decision, but in my experience it was very easy money.Or just not worth the hassle?0 -
