Still waiting for my £100. Been crediting the money for 3 months, March, April & May but they told me March did not count because some of it was a cash deposit! Going by others experiences here I assume a £100 credit next month. Next month my salary should also go in directly also. Worth phoning them to remind them do you think?

I'd wait until 1st June (since it's not overdue until then).

I had to ring them on 1st May because they hadn't paid my incentive. I'd opened my account in February in branch and, like many others, paid £100 in cash to 'activate the debit card'.

For some reason though, this £100 initial deposit wasn't recognised by the switching team as a credit to the account so the £100 incentive payment wasn't triggered!

Once I'd put in an official complaint, the payment was made the same day.

Got mine a few weeks back. Without any chasing. They sent me a letter saying they had given me the £100 - I then went online and there it was! (then took it straight out!)

I got mine seven days ago. Ten days before their self imposed deadline. No chasing required. For me the account makes a good savings pot for a couple of grand with the rate higher than most others

Like a lot of people here I've been through a torrid time with Halifax. They lost my original documentation, they assigned me to a branch in London (I live £300 miles away) and kept insisting I needed to go into my branch. They kept insisting they never received my account transfer forms (I have a collection of 14 letters asking me to send it to them) Finally last week they admitted they had opened 2 seperate transfer files, one of which had my form but was inactive and one which didn't have my form but was).

I wrote and complained, and after receiving nothing replies for 2 months I advised them that I was contacting the Financial Services Ombudsman, Watchdog and the Sunday Papers.

Within a week I had my £100 credited to my account (Even though I've never completed the account transfer process) and also have been offered £50 compensation for my troubles..

So for all those people still waiting for their money I would suggest get writing!!

Beware, also, for those bouncing funds to + from the bank's WebSaver account its rate has today risen to only 5.05% on balances under £5,000. This is the first rate rise in half a year (5% on December 1st) and applies to the option withOUT a card.

Finally got my £100. Does anyone know if we can now apply for a Bank of Scotland Current account and get their £100 offer or are we now all automatically ruled out of that?

Finally I have my £100. But I also have a lot of hassle. I think the hassle of this was not worth the money - really! I'm switching from Nationwide and the credit card Direct Debit was not taken from my old account because it was cancelled by NBS under instruction from the Halifax switching team. But no payment was taken from Halifax. NBS credit card charged me £12, and interest. I have spent hours discussing this with both parties with both of them blaming the other. I'm in the middle not knowing what to believe and going around in circles. But its fair to say that out of the two parties, nationwide seem keener to refund charges as a goodwill gesture even if it wasn't their fault, whereas this concept seems alien to Halifax. The phrase getting blood out of a stone comes to mind regarding Halifax admitting a mistake and refunds. But Nationwide still think Halifax shoud admit the mistake.

A similar thing happened when I gave new DD instructions to one of HBOS's cards and 3 days later they cancelled the new DD without my knowledge and charged me £12 missed payment fee plus £35 interest. I obtained proof from my bank that they did not cancel the new DD (why would they?) HBOS said it was not them who cancelled it and blamed me or my bank. They are failing to repond to letters and complaints. I did speak to them recently and it sounded as if they might refund the money now, but have failed to inform me of this fact and told me to phone next week when they will have refunded the charges (why didn't they do it now or weeks ago?) But they were totally adamant that they would not refund the money and it took a letter to get them to do anything different.

As I say £100 but night after night of hours on the phone discussing until you are blue in the face, its not worth it.

No wonder people are more likely to get a divorce than change their bank accounts.
