No sign of money in my account.
I haven't transfered any DDs, but I do pay £1K per month into the account.

One of the t&cs was that you used their switching service to switch your SO/DD to them - see post 2 at the start of this thread where all the t&cs are copied out.

If you didn't return the forms to them by end of April, it won't matter that you've been funding the account with £1K a month, you'll miss out on the £100.00 I think.

What a joke. I've made deposits in February, March, and April and had noted in my diary to expect the cash yesterday. I called yesterday and was told "don't worry sir, wait until tomorrow".

Having called them three times today, I have in total received 4 different possible dates for payment. Yesterday, Today, the 6th, and the end of May.... allthough, this could not be confirmed due to the overwhelming popularity of the offer. An excuse I would one day love to use when I'm late in paying someone.

Still, at least it's a nice day, and we beat the Geordies last night.

OK. No payment of my £100 today either, so I phone HFax and am told:

"The payment is made 2 months after the date the 2nd deposit of £1000 is made into your account. I can't be sure whether this means 2 calendar months, or 61 days. If it means 61 days, I can't be sure whether that includes week ends or not. It might mean 61 working days".

Of course that makes a heck of a difference, and I couldn't be bothered blasting him for his incompetence and lack of knowledge. I informed him of the original terms:
"5. The £100 switching payment will be paid into your new current account by the end of the month following the month in which you make your second payment of £1,000 into your account. The second £1,000 payment must be received by 30th September 2007."

When he agreed this contradicted his last statement, he wasn't prepared to discuss it any further and I would have to write to them.
His name was John. He refused to give me his last name.

I'm going to a branch now. This is ridiculous.

    EDIT:
    BACK FROM BRANCH:

I got less of a 'fob off' there. I should expect a letter to explain why the £100 wasn't credited.
I can expect the credit to arrive by the same day next month.
I also demanded interest on the £100 for a month (pennies, I know...).

Is this an obudsman type complaint? I have a contract with the Halifax, and they have broken their side of the agreement.

yes this would now be going through the complaints procedure

if unhappy with their full response - they will then refer you to the ombudsman, but you must exhaust their complaints procedure first

I've made an official complaint however I'm hoping that I don't have to go down the ombudsman route as the current account in itself suits my needs at the moment. I'd hate for Halifax to settle, then close my account.

I'd have hoped the ombudsman would not throw it out, since the contract between us (myself and Halifax) makes it quite clear when payments will be made. NOT, when they will start to make them.

If they were unable to meet the end of april deadline they set for themselves, they should have started crediting accounts earlier.
Whichever way you look at it, they are still in breach.

Im not sure it is being treated as an official complaint, but I'll knock up a letter tomorrow and get a complaint in. I dont expect them to write to me explaining anything, but sending them a letter should at least force some sort of response.
