Finally got the letter saying it is all done. They include a letter for you to sign and post to close your old account (I don't think so.......)

I'm sure the advice you've been given is wrong. The original terms and conditions for receiving the £100.00, clearly stated that you must use their switching service (the AAT or whatever Dept) to transfer your existing SO and DD, as well as fund the account by £1000.00 per month.

If they haven't received your switching forms by the end of April, then you lose out on the £100.00 and I wouldn't be surprised if the misinformation you're receiving is a delaying tactic to get out of paying you!

I don't know quite what the problem is with the Halifax call centres (and branches) but I have never had such abysmal service and I've banked with Lloyds and A&L so that's saying something!

Every single step of way there have been problems. I've made literally dozens of calls trying to sort out the switching of my DD and SO but despite having sent the switching forms to them on 21/2/07, which they agree they've received, I'm still no closer to getting them switched or my £100.00!

    What a complete shambles!

    Me too.

I've received, signed and returned so many identical forms from the Halifax. I've paid in credits since February, to meet the requirements of getting the £100. But I am umimpressed with the service so far.

Okay, I don't expect to see the £100 until the very end of this month, but I have been harrassed by staff pushing the Halifax Credit Card at me. The words, "I don't need another Credit Card, thanks" has fallen on deaf ears. Twice over the last fortnight I have received Agreements in the post for opening a Credit Card Account. Both times I have shredded them in disgust.

I am disillusioned already by the Halifax.

Has anyone actually received the £100? I'm still waiting on my list of DD's and SO's and I opened the account at the start of Feb.
Martin, if your reading this I think we should collectively get onto them about it because at this rate they are going to screw us out of our money!

I applied for this account 27th February when I deposited the £100. since then everything has gone smoothly,(unusual for me), I had my temp password 3rd March,( re a letter dated 28th Feb, 7th March had a letter with a list of my DDs, 13th March I could start using the account,, 27th March letter stating new bank acc details had been sent to all third parties, my first DD was used correctly 29th March, I have now made 2 payments of £1000. March and April, so my £100. should be there by the end of May. My chequebook, debit card and £1000 interest free overdraft all arrived as stated

All min all, a painless operation, just hope the £100. gets deposited OK.

No money yet, but the process is complete. I think the time frame depends on the response from your other bank and DD comapanies (I had only one SO to move [a deliberately set-up one] so this was easy)

I've just been on to the Halifax today. They say my old bank won't talk to them so I've had to provide the SO details myself. The rules say you have to use the Halifax Switching Dept to qualify for the £100.

Does this mean I'm no longer eligible? I opened the account in March but it looks like it's going to be at least July before I find out!
