Comments

It officialy ended yesterday 16 at midnight
But .... if customer had pre-booked appointments for today they could get the offer
otherwise they would not0 -
Have I got this right:
- I would be better off with the high interest account and sticking the £2500 and gaining the interest
- Than with the cashback account and £100/yr cashback
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????0 -

Having a 'constant' £2500 would give you about £150 Gross, £120 for basic rate tax payer. As you have to fund the account with £1000 atleast every two months to keep the high interest it will take a bit of juggling to ensure you maximise your interest(over £2500 earns just 0.1%) and if you 'transfered' your main account(lots of DD's SO's) you may want to transfer these back to your other account to make it easier to maintain the constant £2500...0 -
Open two halifax current accounts and just set up a standing order from each to pay £1000 into the other once a month on the same day.If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0

I called them to apply on the day it was ending. Guy on the phone took application and it all went through. He told me that it was ending today but I will get my £100 when I have credited £1000+ a month on the 2nd month.
He booked me a slot at my local branch this Saturday coming to show them ID docs. Today I recieved the paperwork. There was no mention of the £100 bonus anywhere in the leaflets or letters. Do you think I've missed it?
If I have I will cause a scene like you won't believe at the branch and I shall tell them to where to stick their account.!!:)0 -

Forgot about needing to continually fund it with £1000. Originally was just going to ditch the account after the second month. But realising the account might actually be worthwhile.
Might route some RS DD's through the account.0 -
My account details have now been sent through and I just phoned up to confirm the £100 I transferred had gone in, it has; they'll be sending me my debit card tomorrow and forms re DD's & SO's next week. Hopefully it'll all go smoothly. *fingers crossed*
I forgot to ask about the £100 but it was mentioned in the initial letter saying my applicationw as successful (to be credited after 2x £1k+ payments).I am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"0 -
Hi,
I too opened the account a serveral weeks ago. I recieved my new card, cheque book etc but I still ahven't recieved anything from the Halifax listing my DD and SO's to be transferred from Llolyds. Does anyone know the best number to ring to check on the progress of the DD and SO switching service?
Thanks very much0 -
foolsgold - same here. Still heard nothing, though OH has a letter saying we are processing the transfer, I've not even had that. Only phone number is the usual CS one - 08457 20 30 40
. They won't put you through to AATS(or whatever) but they may put you on hold and 'talk to them'they did with me saying 'everythings fine'...
