Only the card, the pin and the transfer forms. First monthly payment done too.0 -
Gambler wrote:I phoned up but was told I had to credit another £10 at my local branch in order for the £100 to show up. The advisor said I should have been told I could only credit the initial £100 in the branch.
On checking online today the £100 has now disappeared from my account.
I don't want a branch account, I haven't had a branch account for about 15 years. It is difficult for me to get to a branch due to my work location and hours.
What's going on? I think I'll get my money back and not proceed with the switching. I wouldn't trust them with my direct debits.
This is a complete waste of time.
My partner received a card from the royal mail yesterday saying she had to collect an item as the postage was underpaid by 23p plus a £1 surcharge.
Guess who it was from, the good old Halifax relating to the transfer of her account. Sorry but I won't be trusting these with any of my banking.
Cahoot are not great but thay at least get the basics right.
Does anybody have an address for who to send complaints to. I just want my £200 funding returned and wont be switching.
Maybe they should spend a little more in getting the basics right and not so much on naff tv ads.
Edit: I've just got in to find the letter with incorrect postage is an exact copy of the acceptance we returned last week.0 -
I'm giving them a bit longer to sort themselves out, but I've checked this out in case I need to complain. Official complaint address is here:
http://www.halifax.co.uk/contactus/howtocomplain.asp
But personally I'd send a polite email to their CEO instead, explaining that you would really like to do business with them and it's their rubbish systems that have lost his company your business: andyhornby@hbosplc.com
If the mods object to me posting an email address, it's listed with lots of other CEOs here:

After my earlier post...
I have now told Halifax not to bother & to close my account. They still have my £100 & they said I had to get my bank to fax Halfax a request for Halifax to return my money!!!!!!!
I said 'no way, it's my money, please refund me now!'.
The decision I took was to protect my money in future. They are obviously incompetent so i didn't want them having any of my money in the future.
Rest assured, I will NEVER DEAL WITH HALIFAX AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Mine was open without the need for ID - they just sent me a form to sign and a signature strip. I have Halifax accounts already though.
I received a letter 3 weeks ago to say i had been accepted and all I had to do was pay in £100 overnight balance. It didn't specify i had to go to a branch so I did it online, in the same way I've been banking for donkeys years.
I signed the form and the signature slip and returned it.
Now not only has my £100 disappeared but I've now had a letter requesting I.D.
Why not say that in the acceptance letter, pay in £100 and supply I.D.0 -

I ignored the terms as these were billed as a copy for me. If they wanted me to sign it they would have sent two copies. I also ignored the slip as the letter did not mention it. So far so good. I have the card and the transfer forms have been sent back.
Halifax are muppets. They just rejected my CC application saying I had too much credit. I keep my ISA with them which could settle my existing CC debts in a stroke. Muppets0 -
Have I missed something on the bank website or are they no longer offering the £100 joining bonus????0
