Did anyone else apply online at the time of Martin's e mail and still not heard anything?
I applied for mine that afternoon and then a few hours later applied for my husband. My a/c is open but not heard anything at all about his.
Starting to think maybe I dreamt doing his application!MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -

Exactly the same thing has happened with my family/friends! Everything has been sent out in the wrong order and we're all at various stages of the process, despite having applied one after the other.
If your husband goes onto their website and has a hunt around, there's a "callback" button he can press to get them to call him back and find out the status of his application. Having said that, their call centre staff all just seem to say to visit your local branch and sort it out there, which rather defeats the purpose of applying online. When I phoned up because I still hadn't heard anything, I was initially told to reapply online! I don't think so - two credit checks for the same product is all I need!
I did post a link to the "callback" function somewhere earlier on this thread if you search back.
Edited to Add:
Callback link is here:

Don't take any old rubbish. He does not have time to go visit his local branch for a teenager to try and sell him products he doesn't need. He'd just like his application pack sent out please!0 -
Thanks Tipsy,
I will give it a bit longer not least becasue one of the main benefits of doing everything online is that I can run all our banking (at hubby's request) - it would NEVER get done otherwise. I just put letters & forms under his nose and say sign here when I need to! If he gets a call back when I'm not there to dictate to him the info he needs it will be a right mess!! I don't mind waiting just as long as we get it as I'm on a mission for 2 x £100!!MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -
I applied over the phone and got accepted straight away.
Unfortunately though, - I just asked for the "switching account which will give me £100 cash back".
I didn't realise that some of these accounts charge you every month, and that they all give you £100 cash back!
After successfully applying for the current account, I rang them back to confirm exactly which account I had applied for, and they couldnt tell me! I have to go into the local branch with my ID, - they said that when I go in there they'll be able to confirm which account it is, and whether they'll be any monthly charges!0 -
I applied online on the afternoon of the 13th Feb. I got a letter today to say I'd been successful. Thats the only correspondence I've had so far! I don't need to send any ID, just sign and return a form and put £100 in my account. I guess they don't need ID becuase I have a RS and ISA with them.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

Went in this dinner and the lady in branch completed the form for me all I did was sign and enter my phone number, I then posted it off to the switching department.
Smile definately have a branch where I live (Derby), although it maybe a Co-op bank with a Smile logo next to it.
thats good then fossman. the fact the branch were able to print means they were not done on the aats system, which was good news for you0 -

The only account that has a monthly fee is the new Ultimate Reward. This account can not be sold over the telephone anyhow, due to telephony FSA regs. The branch can only sell it.
Now that means that you either have the money back, high interest or normal current account.0 -
The aats department are actually based in Glasgow, but the Leeds address is the right one, as that is the sorting address for any mailing.0

Right, so just to clarify all this then...
You need:
a current account with another bank or building society that has DD and/or SOs coming out of it;
the ability to pay in £1000 a month from wherever (not necessarily a salary/pension payment)
There is no necessity to switch any payments into the old current account from there to the Halifax.
You can qualify for the £100 by opening a Halifax current account which does not charge a monthly fee.
Correct?
So what I need is a dummy current account with some money going in and a couple of SOs going out and which doesn't have any charges so long as I;m in credit, that I can switch without any real fear. Any suggestions for such an account?0 -

However, if you're going to the trouble of opening another account, and setting up a couple of temporary SO's for Halifax to transfer, at least get yourself an account with some secondary/ongoing benefits.
Consider Nationwide for it's overseas spending benefits, and LTSB for their 'save the change' promotion and 8% regular saver.0
