A quiet day today. DH's birthday so I decided to spend it with him. Tomorrow I'm going to have to do loads to catch up but I really have the bit between the teeth. I think a trip to the tip first thing then a couple of hours spent on the bedroom sorting and tidying.

Want to do it all now though.;)

Today I finally completed work on the garden, rubbish gone and all sorted. All I have to do now is plant it with the veggies next season.:j I can't wait.

I'm still working on the money. I have tried a number of spreadsheet formats but haven't found the one for me yet. I will keep trying though.

Workwise I have been sorting the stash and the folksy shop. I still have a lot to do but I can do it.

Payday today so a bunch of bills paid. Another step towards my DFD.

A strange day, not much done. Actually I spent a lot of the day sitting on a bench in the garden, reading a magazine and thinking about everything I have to do.I have so much whizzing through my head I sometimes need time out from myself.

I have signed up for the £10 day challenge but only gone for £5.00 as I'm a big chicken.

Only four days since I resurrected the diary but it feels like time is going so quickly. I need to get a move on or miss out on my dreams.

Not a good day, on a real downer. Tomorrow is another day.

I have been thinking a lot about debt and the effects it has on life apart from the obvious.

I think it has really hit me in the past few days what I have lost due to the debt, hours with my boy which I will never get back. I wish that I had been more educated about money at a younger age but what's the point in wishing. My parents were very secretive about money, never really spoke about it in front of us kids. I will be the opposite with my little one, within reason .

I read diaries on here which are written by younger folk and I feel pleased that they are dealing with there debts early but also feel jealous that I didn't do the same. This site is so fantastic and I know with the help of DFW I will be successful but some days it knocks the wind out of me the journey I have put myself through.

  • I have got a splitting headache so this reply may not make sense, I just wanted you know you weren't only one who feels a bit crap about the whole money thing - well obviously not given we are here! but age wise and choices wise. I know what you mean

    big hugs

    xx

Thanks for the reply Buffy. I hope the headache has gone.

I do love this site because of the positivity, support and ideas.

I know it's pointless to dwell on the past and most days I can be very positive. The start of paying off the debt was stressful but when you get into the swing it just plods along. I think the frustration is from being so close to the end but still a time away. I've never been very patient.;)

At least we are all here and sorting things. I'd hate to be out there not knowing about this site, it would be terribly lonely.

    Go MSE DFW:money:

  • This is true, I was pretty gung ho when I got into debt the second time (!) thinking I would pay it off super quick but then I decided to quit my job and that really put a spanner in the works and it is annoying, I do know what I need to do and it is SO close and yet so far.

but you are correct Parsnip it is better to be here thinking that than outside £30,000 plus in debt (well I would have been)

    Take care XXX

Buffy, I did the quitting work thing as well a few years back. I was single, with a mortgage and in deep debt but it was such a stressful job I don't think I would have been here now if I hadn't as it was causing major health problems. I do think that being spontaneous can be a good thing, but I'm a little more cautious now. Luckily it worked out well but it could have gone very, very wrong.

Back to work later today. Last night was spent in tears at the thought of leaving the little one.:( I'm very lucky as I work three days term time but it breaks my heart to be away from him. But this year I will pay off my debt and get some savings with the wage from this job so it has to be seen as a positive thing.

It does mean no nosying through the diaries on here though in the day.

Back to work today and its training week. :wall::wall: Honestly the nonsense they talk at times drives me mad, it's crazy. One part was helpful though and cemented in my mind what I want to do in the future and the life I want to live.

This job will pay my bills and give me savings until July next year so I need to operate at the highest level and not let things slide, that would be rude.

I been a shock to the system so the planning and jobs will restart tomorrow. Plus I have some self employed work to get on with so that will bring in some more money.:j

    Off now. Night diary.
