  • Morning people,

Sorry I didn't update yesterday, things just getting to me.

20p added to the hippo pot and 5p added to the demi-john.

Trying hard to keep things together and keep checking the bank account but all I see is it dwindling away. We're due the CB but they don't seem to be able to decide from one month to the next when they pay it in, sometimes its before DH gets paid and some times its after...I'm hoping that this month it will be before as that will give us a bit of breathing space.

I won't be getting the OT I was hoping for due to various factors so not too happy about that.

The kids old and [STRIKE]battered[/STRIKE] well loved bike currently has 11 watchers on ebay so I'm hoping that by the weekend it will have sold...don't want a lot but will be nice if we get something for it.

Busy job hunting, I seriously need more money and/or better hours, I've applied for one local to home that's more or less what I do now but in an old peoples home rather than a school, so hoping something will come from that.

Cleaning job today so some money at least.
  • morning purple mum :)

keep your chin up you're doing amazing :)

fingers crossed on the new job :)

So it’s Thursday and Christmas is coming thick and fast and so is the end of term and the weather is turning cold, thankfully we’ve not got any snow yet but some has been quoted as coming tomorrow.

Ok crunch time…I have totalled up how much the debt has risen over the past few months, it’s not pretty and is now £11,265.08, it’s been a hard year but that is not really a good excuse is it? I feel bad and I feel like I’ve lost control of it, but can’t dwell on it and can’t wallow in it and must charge through it!!

So I need to change it; I need to get my bum in gear and take control again and get it down like it was at the beginning of the year, my aim for the next coming months is to try and reduce ‘it’ by at least £3000, more if I’m able to, that will put it at a reasonable figure of £8265.08…I think I might pay off the 8p too.

I have made a start on things and have put some change in the demi-john, DD asked me why and I told her that I am aiming to try and fill it or part fill it by the end of next year.

I have started to save 20p’s and once I have a reasonable amount I aim to take them to the Post Office and put them on the budget card towards the car taxes.

I have a good feeling about next year and will try and get more organised.

I didnt even know the post office did a budget card, thank you so much for the tip:j

  • Good morning,

Tired today and sore, We had snow yesterday and I slipped over and hurt by already sore back (disc removed years ago, gets sore in cold weather) and had to walk to work. I took a co-codamol last night and it has helped a bit.

I ended up not cleaning yesterday due to the snow but will be going to her house today unless she texts me to say otherwise.

Good news...I found £6 yesterday whilst walking :D

DD has her Rainbow's Christmas party tonight, she's so excited and I finally gave in and we've put the tree and decorations up.

DH is out with work tomorrow night, so I can get presents wrapped and put under the tree...kids will be having an early night whether they like it or not.

Need to nip to Boots today and get DH's NicAssit and some ibuprofen...will use my cleaning money for that, so nothing will come out of the bank account.

Have checked online banking and still not good news but sod all I can do about it, so going to plod on.
  • Hope your feeling a bit brighter today, back pain is awful, I also suffer from disc problems, so really sympathise.

    Well done on finding £6.

Hope you have a good day.

  • Quickie update time before I do the school run.

Cleaning job done this morning, they gave me £20 this week instead of £18 so quitely pleased about that.

I used £10 of it to put some petrol in the car.

Bought DH's NicAssist and Ibuprofen but used my card (Doh!) but went in to Morrison's and bought some bits we needed...forgot the spaghetti and rolls! but used money out of my purse.

Need to go back to the shops after I've got the kids to get the spaghetti....I think I need to write a list for the shops now lol, just had a thought, will nip to Tesco's when I've dropped DD at Rainbow's as that'll save me using two lots of petrol.

My back although it's a bit sore still is much easier than it was yesterday and this morning...I feel like a right muppet though :D

  • Late post for me today.

DH and I had another row last night about the housework again...I swear I could throttle him sometimes! and he managed to wake up DS with his shouting  anyway, he's apologised this morning...mainly I think because I was giving him the cold shoulder treatment and he needed me to drop him off at the station :D PILLOCK!

Any how, he's been dropped off at the station as he's out drinking with work colleagues for Christmas...cue 3am stumbling through the door or phonecall home like last year :rotfl: We'll see and I'll update tomorrow.

It gives me chance to wrap presents and drink wine in peace whilst the kids are in bed and he's out. I find it less stressful that way and I can get a lot done. Need to get more wrapping paper but that'll have to wait until next week when he gets paid.

Sent DH an email whilst he was on the train basically I've been thinking, we have problems budgeting (my opinion) and I'm trying to get him on board so I suggested to him about using the current account purely for bills and changing my old dormant current account into a joint one and using that for everything else. I told him that we have nothing to lose and it was worth trying and that all we need to do is phone our respective HR departments and give them the new account numbers to put our wages into once its sorted and....he said..."Maybe". So not a No...Yet!

I even suggested to him that we might possibly be able to save some money as we would then know what we have to play with. I'm hoping he'll think about it and at least give it a shot, even if it was for 12 months.

I spoke to him the other day about needing to move when the car taxes are due and he's agreed that when September 2013 arrives, we'll get 6 month taxes for both cars and that will then move them to the following March 2014 when we will then get 12 months and this will eleviate some of the pressure of the last 6 months of the year...when normally everything is due.

I'm thinking that like Rising a new diary is going to be needed, I feel I need to get things together in one spot rather than all over the show and this diary has been a bit hit and miss this year with one thing and another, although I guess I could just carry this one on.
  • Hope your feeling better?

Keep your chin up your doing a great job xx

I think I need a new diary my debts bigger than ever :o
