His details were on the site for a one time purchase. Usually it comes up that you need to enter your password to make a purchase.
His iPad had updated and the password stays on for two hours before it can be removed and DH ihad updated it when he came home etc.
Still it's done now and DS has learnt a lesson...he won't get any pocket money for a while and has to earn our trust back for lying about it when asked.0 -

That one should hopefully stick!
I remember when I was maybe 6 or 7 playing with matches in the living room ... now, obviously, we'd been told that you never ever play with matches but .... you know how it is.
Anyway, DM or DF must've come in and smelt them and asked if I'd been playing with them - knowing I'd get into trouble, I liedand said "no".
DF then spent several hours  searching the house to try to find the source of the burning ....... and, of course, didn't find anything ... and they knew I'd lied about it.
Needless to say, I learnt my lesson about lying about something when asked at a very early age!:o ETA and 30+ years later, I can still remember being in the living room and how bad I felt!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Morning world,
DH appears to be ill so doubtful that he'll be going in to work today.
Cleaning day for me today...£18 for the pot
I've a lady coming after the school run for an item I sold, it's only £1 but it'll go in the pot still.
Have checked online banking and updated my spreadsheet accordingly, nothing new has come out so that's a good thing.
Seeing my friend and his wife on Friday morning, it's his birthday on Saturday and I won't get to see him them so will need to remember to take his present and card.
Need to update my signature as I put 20p in my pot yesterday that was hanging about.
Have a good day everyone x0 -
Morning,
Lady didn't come to pick up what she'd bought, she rearranged for Friday...£2 not £1 as previously stated (typo) so hopefully she'll give me a £2 coin that I can put in my pot
Payday for me today, I need to check what's due to come out against what remains in the account and see if I need to transfer over DH's expenses and the bit of money I transferred over to the savings account when DH was paid.
Very tired today...DH couldn't sleep and I was woken up by him at 3.30am. It appears that DS has been at it again! He has run up another £38 worth of inApp purchases...we were both at a loss as to how he'd done it, we wondered if someone had some how managed to hack in to his iTunes account or his iPhone...DS has admitted this morning that he watched DH put his password in and that is how he managed to make the purchases! Clever little so and so! So now he's on a total ban of anything electronic and DH has had to once again change his password.
It's not so much about how he'd done it, its now about the fact that he's stolen this money by making the purchases. I should add that since DH found out after a bit of searching, we have found out that you can block inApp purchases...something that wasn't made aware to us before...so this will not and should not be able to happen again.
DH is worried enough about the lack of money and how we are going to provide for Christmas without this headache!
Will check the credit card later and total that up along with the remainder of what is on the virgin card and see how much the total damage is.0 -
ooh not a good start to your day. cheeky little so n so.

Do you know, reading these little tricks your DS has been getting up to really makes me think about when I was younger and didn't really have any concept of the fact that my Dad could have been struggling, to me he just 'had money'. Like he'd give me a tenner to get some bread / biscuits / whatever from the shop and I'd almost always treat myself to a magazine, because to me it was just a few pounds. If someone did that to me now I'd go nuts! Obviously no where in the realm of these itunes purchases though. At least you will have got it sorted now, hopefully!September 2016 GC £21.37/£1200

Can it be paid back through his pocket money?Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Thanks :A I haven't been able to reply today as I've only had my phone.
We had a bit of a breakthrough, DH wrote to iTunes and explained that DS had been making the purchases and he got a very pleasant reponse to say that on this occassion they will honour it and refund the money :j and it should be on DH's credit card within the next 5 days.
DS hasn't been told yet, he still believes that he has to find a way to get that money back...DH is going to tell him when he gets home
lurvlyloz - It did a bit, when I realised tomorrow is Friday
Scuff - I echo that hun, you sound just like me lol
rising from the ashes - This was a totally new lot  and he's 8. The plan was that he would pay it back via his pocket money, DH worked out it would take him until at least February.
Anyway, apart from being tired, today hasn't been too bad. 2x20p has been squirrelled away in my hippo pot, 50p in my other pot, a nice shiny £2 coin in my terramundi oh and 22p in my demi-john.
I did the majority of the Christmas present shopping today and just have about everyone sorted. I need to buy DH something and my mum and the kids stockings to finish and then that is it I am done :xmassign::xmassmile:rudolf:0
