mmmmmm personally I'd still make him pay it back .... that might sound really harsh but ......Deleted_User wrote: »This was a totally new lot  and he's 8.
He obviously hasn't taken any notice after the first chat & needs to learn the lesson that he shouldn't have done it
OMG I am so horriblebut it's the fact that it's a new lot that would be making me absolutely
You could always save it up and have a treat / day out somewhere when he's paid it back (but don't tell him that's where the money's come from):)

Thank god it's Friday...its been one hell of a week! It's also very chilly out, so make sure you keep warm.
Rising - You're not being horrible and I agree with you. DH didn't tell DS in the end but he might over the weekend. No nasty surprises this morning thankfully.
Very tired this morning, I slept very heavily last night mainly due to the night before I think as well as clean sheets on the bed.
Have checked online banking and updated my spreadsheet, so far so good, the majority of the main DD's come out tomorrow so I can then do my transferring of funds to cover the remainder then.
My buyer is coming after school today for her item
I'm off to see my lovely friend and his wife this morning, it my friend's birthday tomorrow but I won't get chance to see him due to DS's climbing club and other things; so I'm going to drop his present and card off today.
Will count what is in my demi-john today and declare it on the SPC thread, depending on how much is in there I might leave it for next year but I may just bank it and take it off the credit card depending on the amount.
Three weeks to go until the end of term and four weeks until the end of the year...to be honest I'll be glad to get Christmas out of the year. I want to start a fresh and get plans in place to move us forward and get us out of this hole.
Off to get motivated, will update later x0 -

I'm feeling like that too!
I've done a new SOA for next year - it's very tightand have no idea how I'm actually going to make any headway into paying back the OD
..... I've also done new spreadsheets for next year so they're all ready to go too!
I could actually do with just skipping December altogether!:o

Hi everyone,
Just a quick update, nothing much to report on the money front except that we are still skint (nothing new there!)
Demi-john was counted up and we'd managed to save £52.35 over the year, so that wasn't too bad. I've decided to hang on to it and try and carry it on through out next year.
DH had put 4x20p's in there, so I have just gone and taken them out and put them with the other 20p's...it appears we now have £8 in that pot, once it gets to £10 I will put them on the budget card.
My £2 coins are up to £10 too, I'm unsure whether to just leave them for the time being or bank them?
Had a bit of a topsy turvy weekend, there was a very bad incident a few years ago that I didn't go into too much detail on here but it appears (so I found out on Saturday) that the other person involved back then spread very nasty malicious rumors and twisted what really happened... she is a known b*lls****r (not something I was aware of back then) and appears to have been covering her tracks. This hurts because it has brought everything back to the surface again that I had managed to bury.0 -
hi Purplemumof2
great news on your savings pots. all adds up hey!?
really sorry about your rubbish weekend. if she is known for a bad repuation then people will take everything she says with a pinch of salt and im sure they would believe your version of events.
hope your week is a good Moneysaving onex

Apologies if this post ends up being a long one, it is unintentional but I have some 'stuff' I need to get written down.
The credit card debt stands at: Will update when I've checked
The overdraft stands at: £2750
Total: £TBC
The above two are the main ones that cause the most concern and therefore should be my main priority to clear.
I have joined the following challenges:
20p Savers Club 2013
£2 Savers Club 2013
SPC #6 2013
All 20p's once I hit £10 will be taken to the Post Office and put on to my budget card towards the Car Taxes
All £2 coins once I hit a substantial amount, will be taken to the bank and paid off the credit card, tempted to do that with all the 50p's I save too...I need to do something with them and I cannot find a Savers thread :rotfl:
I'm fairly pleased with what we accumulated shrapnel wise in the demi-john and I have pledged to roll it over and build it up until the end of November 2013 (watch this space!)
Sad though it sounds, I'm sorted Christmas wise for 2013 bar the kids and DH...I have some Park Vouchers and other little bits set aside for this and it will need to be paid over next year.
I'm not sure who's thread it was I was reading but they mentioned about getting their car tax for 6 months rather than their usual 12 months in order to shift it earlier/later in the year; might be something I will need to discuss with DH but I'm tempted to do this should I not accumulate enough on the Budget card.
I'm hoping that DH will get a bonus this year, the company he works for tends to give out a rather good bonus at Christmas but I'm not holding my breath...if he does get one, I plan to split it...some in the savings, pay off my Park and pay some off the credit cards...Virgin has some remaining on it so I would like to shift that.
Theoretically, that should put us in good stead for 2013 and I should be ahead of myself, this in turn should roll forward for the following year.
Now 2013...This is where I want to be.- Get a full time job - this didn't quite go to plan this year but it wasn't through lack of trying!
- Budgetting properly - I need to stop procrastinating with this
- Ensure that we have enough saved for big expenses during the year.
- Keep up with my lists
On the job front...DD goes in to school at 8.30am once she hit Year 3 in September, this will be a godsend and should help with the work side of things...although she will have a slightly different uniform than what she has now.
I keep trying and I keep plodding on!0 -
Reading your list .... there's a lot in there that's pretty similar to some of my goals!
Great to know that you're not alone on here ....:DDeleted_User wrote: »the 50p's I save too...I need to do something with them and I cannot find a Savers thread :rotfl:
:rotfl:I looked for a 50p savers club too!
Mine are currently (along with the odd £1 coin if I have loads in my purse) going into the Bus Fund pot - I have to get the bus in really bad weather & it costs £8 / day, rather than £3 in fuel .... was on it for 4 weeks in the "bad winter" and trying to find the extra really mucked up the budgets so thought I'd try to have some set aside to help:)
I'm a bit worried about it as it's coming up to the time of year when I'll need it and it's no-where near what it should be- partly down to taking out the £2 coins as I've joined the £2 savers club:):o

I was asking people's thoughts about this on my diary the other day ..... have decided I will go for 6 months this time (hate that it's more expensive) and then do full years from then on - the thought of having tax, service & mot in the same month:eek: fills me with horror

Forgot to mention I need to keep up with my cleaning job, even though at times I really don't want to! Might have to put feelers out for another one as the extra money on top would come in handy.0
