So it's free listing again this weekend, do you think they figured it was so sunny that no one would bother doing anything
It's glorious out there. I got up just after 6 and took the dog out for a walk, it was lovely and quiet and fresh. I do like that time of the morning when I can be bothered
I then went back to bed with a book
DH has got up in a right mood, so hopefully he'll be out of it soon.
I've opened all the doors and windows to let some air and sunshine in.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hey everyone
*bounces in tigger style* :j:j:j What a difference a nice sunny day makes eh?It is lovely out there
i may actually get dressed today and go and sit in the garden for a bit - well i *may* i'm just thinking about it for now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I am not as exhausted as i was yesterday but i have not been up and about for too long so we will see how i go onStill would prefer not to wake up thinking about money - the lack of it, how i can get more coming in, what all the bills are that are due, wishing whole stretches of my life away for the next payday, the next 5 paydays, the end of my listsings to see if anything sells so i can pay more off debt
Urgh!
Still it is *sunny* and i really should get me some vitamin D- all very mse as this way its free :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Jwil - regarding your mortgage if things are tight now i'd be tempted to use the 'spare' money to make things less tight for yourself and then start to overpay after that. But my mortgage payments will change in June and they may well reduce BUT i am intending to keep paying the same - my situation is that all but 1 debt is interest free and that debt i have chosen to pay off last / next to last anyways - interest is a maximum of £20 in a month. Right now i have 5 debts but started this month with 7 debts and aim to end the month with 4 debts. I'm also aiming to pay off another debt in april leaving me with 3 debts - and i aim to pay one of these off in may or may-june and then the 2 debts will be 1 in july and 1 in august. This is the plan / hope / dream anyway. I also cannot re-mortgage onto a cheaper deal so need to pay the mortgage down in order to try and be eligible for a new mortgage - i *am* really scared about the mortgage increasingand would prefer to try and get tied in on a deal but no chance with my income v mortgage

Hi DDFW
You're right..the weather makes a big difference...it's nice to have a Tigger on the case, bouncing us all into a better place!!
OPg is such a great thing. Getting to financial independence would be so great but as you know that's been part of my downfall recently..spending on some big things but also transferring money into my OP pot during the month without acknowledging that new spends had gone on the CC..elementary really. It's hard to find the balance..
Anyway..will be a great weekend for booting jwil..are you planning to go to one?
OH has done a lot at the allotment, including putting in first early potatoes and planting out some salad. Really want to motor with the allotment and salad stuff this year..it could make a reasonable difference to our food bill.
Hope everyone is having a good day

Hey everyone
Hope you are still bouncing away DDFW, and getting some sun (for health reasons naturally)
Sounds like your OH has had a lovely productive day brizzle, hope yours has been good.
We cleared out a lot of the garage this morning, and now can fit the boot sale stuff in as well as the stored stuff :T So that means we don't have to use the van as a storage shed so much :j
Then this afternoon we went to the seaside :j Sat there with a book and the dog loved it and was attempting to dig to Australia. It was nice to have such a lovely day whilst you can still take dogs on the beach, there were loads down there all having fun, but behaving too, and not causing problems for others.
We were thinking about selling at a car boot tomorrow, but have decided just to go for a mooch instead."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
DedicatedDFW wrote: »peaceandfreedom - So i should say, and i'm not just saying it, that i really admire you p&f
You have i *think* 2 wonderful sounding children who i am sure you are very proud of
(really hope i've not got that wrong
:rotfl::rotfl:) You are successfully self-employed which is amazing especially in this recession :T You work out in the garden and grow your own food which is fantastic
And you are so motivated about achieving things in your home / garden / life - it really is alot to be proud of - and i am sure there is so much more i've missed or don't know about you. I am very proud to 'know' you as it were and you are certainly someone i'd want to be around, if we lived nearer, as you no doubt naturally bring out the best in others too
Well, I'm not so sure about that last bit but thanks so much for your kind words of support, DDFW, makes me feel much better even though I am not as nice as you make me sound.I have 3 children actually - the oldest is away at university. My children are my greatest achievement and I adore them.
DedicatedDFW wrote: »Well done on sorting out the clothes - a huge task but it will feel good as they sell and are gone :T Its probably easier for me as i never iron if i can help it. It may not sound mse but the tumble dryer is my friendBasically by drying everything that can go in there though i am not spending ages ironing which takes up alot of time, energy and electrickery so i am happy
I have done 2 loads of washing so far for the ebay clothes (as well as the regular washing). I have a tumble-dryer but rarely use it. The electricity used by an iron would fade into insignificance compared to what a tumble-dryer uses and I also don't think it's very good for clothes. My iron is one of those steam-generator ones - I can get through a 2-foot high pile of ironing in an hour, it's so fast.0 -
peaceandfreedom - I have nothing to add to what DDFW said, but we all love you :kisses3: and if we can help at all then just shout.
Thanks, Jwil.I'm not so down-in-the-dumps today and have had another good day in the garden - this time of year, I spend every spare moment out there. Planted some spuds today, moved and re-planted some other stuff around the garden, I love being out there. :j

Slowly though i am working to change that and believe it will happen.
I never had a life-plan either, DDFW, but I know I didn't plan on being where I am now at this age.And you know, it's mostly my own fault. Perhaps if I'd had a life-plan, looked to the future more, I'd be in a much better position now financially, career-wise, in every way. I often feel I've let my kids down by not being more financially secure - I'd love to be able to take them on nice holidays, or pay for driving lessons or a car etc.
Like you, I am working on changing and hope that I am making progress. Once thing for sure, I will be striving to ensure that my children don't make the same mistakes I've made.0 -

I agree with this - you have extra outgoings and have struggled for the past couple of months - take advantage of the reduced mortgage to let things settle down and see how you go for six months maybe, before making a decision on overpayment.0 -
Morning Jwil
What a lovely weekend we are all having. Isn't the sunshine wonderful ... makes us feel good. Sorry to hear OH not in good form. Hope today finds him well.
I would say with the extra money use it as a buffer for spare cash. You need to have a wee bit sitting somewhere. Would give you a bit of breathing space.
Enjoy the lovely day ahead."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis
