  • Hi Jwil and everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying the fabulous weather - everything seems to much better when the sun shines. :T

While sowing seeds in the greenhouse yesterday, the temperature reached nearly 40 degrees!! Sowed a few more seeds this morning while listening to a little bit of Ken Bruce on Radio 2.

Made plans this morning for my new raised beds and I am so looking forward to getting those done so I can have some real crops this year. They are only going to be small beds but it's going to be great. :)

After feeling a bit in the doldrums last night, I finally decided to sort out all the clothes that should be ebayed - just have to wash them, dry them, iron them, photograph them and list them now. :p

Hope everyone has a great day - I really had better go and do some work - see y'all later.

    Hey everyone,

Sorry for the absence, I've been a bit grumpy.

Sorry to hear you were feeling down peaceandfreedom, glad you are feeling better today. Sounds like you've made a great start with the raised beds!

The sun definitely makes everything seem nicer, and looks like we are in for a good weekend too :j

    Hi everyone :D

it is indeed beautiful weather here too and i am exhausted :( Bah! Fortunately i had a good sale last on eb*y - well good for me as was over £40 :T just 1 item already posted too :) so this has given me a bit of adrenalin to run on otherwise i think i'd be on the floor  These energy levels are shockingly low though :(

In other news my fella has taken himself off shopping and has apparently bought himself several new items - which will all no doubt be nice branded goods - i am pleased for him and not jealous at all - though a little bit of me wishes he'd bring a small treat home for moi :p Never mind eh?!

peaceandfreedom - i thought it might be business that you'd been away on. well done on the tomato plants - i agree it is lovely watching something you'd planted grow - and even nicer when you come to harvest ;) Isn't it funny how we all measure ourselves? I never had a life-plan as such but also never anticipated being in the position i am in now either so when i look at where i am and what i am doing i am so disappointed and ashamed too :o Slowly though i am working to change that and believe it will happen. I know we all get down at times and its good we can post on here so that others can rally round and help perk us up again :) So i should say, and i'm not just saying it, that i really admire you p&f :D You have i *think* 2 wonderful sounding children who i am sure you are very proud of :) (really hope i've not got that wrong :o :rotfl::rotfl:) You are successfully self-employed which is amazing especially in this recession :T You work out in the garden and grow your own food which is fantastic :D And you are so motivated about achieving things in your home / garden / life - it really is alot to be proud of - and i am sure there is so much more i've missed or don't know about you. I am very proud to 'know' you as it were and you are certainly someone i'd want to be around, if we lived nearer, as you no doubt naturally bring out the best in others too :D

Well done on sorting out the clothes - a huge task but it will feel good as they sell and are gone :T Its probably easier for me as i never iron if i can help it. It may not sound mse but the tumble dryer is my friend :) Basically by drying everything that can go in there though i am not spending ages ironing which takes up alot of time, energy and electrickery so i am happy :)

Oh i've been rubbish on the challenge too - although every drip and drab of money has been going towards it - i probably won't hit target but i am already in a better position than if i'd not done anything and unexpected things like that good sale make all the difference too :T

jwil - sorry you've not been great either - really hoping you are feeling more yourself soon x And yes, the weather definitely helps :)

Hey ebayqueen, I'm not too bad thanks, how's things with you?

I think I saw elsewhere that you are popping over the water soon? Hope you have a nice break :)

DDFW - well done on the sale :T Go and sit in the sun and relax today. (After getting on the phone to your OH and dropping a huge hint that a pressie would be very much welcomed :D :rotfl: )

peaceandfreedom - I have nothing to add to what DDFW said, but we all love you :kisses3: and if we can help at all then just shout.

I never iron either, and I don't have a tumble drier, I just look like a tramp :rotfl: I would like a TD though, towels and stuff just aren't the same naturally dried.

In other news, I sold a few bits on ebay last night, and a book on amazon this morning, so that's all good :T

I also had notification that our mortgage rate is coming down by 1.5% soon, so that made me very happy  Now the dilemma is whether to keep the payments the same and overpay, or have a little extra cash

I'm leaning towards keeping the payments the same as it will insure us against rate rises for a little while. Though on the other hand, a little extra cash would be very helpful at the moment. Maybe I'll meet in the middle.

If possible I'd try and leave the mortgage payments were they are you'd be amazed at how many years you'll wipe off and tbh what comes down usually goes back up. Don't forget you'll get a little extra in your paypacket in April as tax allowances go up :j

Have good weekend, I'm hoping to spend sometime out in the garden.

    Hi folks

Sorry for not popping up here, have been in the doldrums looking at our spends for this month and thinking we had a savings pot that was really in actual fact just covering the overspends! Bonkers. One thing I do know though is that thank god we did the EBay and Amazon so that made a big difference.

Here's to a lovely sunny weekend of MSE!

Thanks retired. I'm leaning towards that and would prefer it for definite, but another part of me is saying it's silly overpaying the mortgage when I'm so tight with everything else at the moment.

I've finally realised that the OU course is what has got me so tight at the moment  and I've got to pay that for another 7 months then it should be easier again. Maybe I'll drop for a few months and then reinstate it.

Hey Brizzle, I think a few of us have been on downers this week, me included. Hope we all pick up soon, and get our debtbusting mojos back!

    Have a lovely weekend :)
