Hey everyone
hi eltee
Hi retiredandskint - also hoping you're ok
ebayqueen - well done on your sale :T - as you say it is money in which mounts up - and also clutter gone too
jwil - well done on the bids - hope you get some more
jwil - good that you have some funds coming in from various places - you have probably heard me say so many times how i have less than no moneyso you know i and others here understand x it is really hard when its like that - where you *have* to spend money but the money just isn't there
((hugs)) and am sure it will all work out for you x
peaceandfreedom - many thanks for the advice on lovefilm - took the plunge and enjoyed a film the other day - takes me hours to watch something at the mo. as i can only manage 15mins of focus on any 1 thing at the mo.but i happily have cashback tracking on this
Did you do the netflix offer as well? - i was unlucky in that mine didn't tack but i have put a claim in and lots of peoples tracked fine

Anyone seen retiredandskint recently? Hope you are well if you are lurking
AAAAAH just typed out a long reply and it disappeared into cyberspace:mad:
Anyway where was I, oh yes, I'm still lurkalot :rotfl:. I tend to withdraw into myself when feeling down and find it hard to post. Thank you jwil and DDFW for missing me.
Currently spending more money (car problems) than we earn which, as you know, doesn't help. I'm still selling bits and bobs on the bay of e but nothing of any real value. My latest sale on Saturday hasn't payed up. On looking on their status yesterday I realise that they joined last year and it would appear they haven't sold or bought anything so perhaps just don't know what to do but knowing my luck it's just a timewaster
Sorry to hear you're also having financial problems jwil it seems it's one step forward and three back. So easy to get into debt (a bit like putting weight on) and so hard to get out of it.
On the plus side OH has just got a 2% payrise and my state pension goes up by just over £5 a week :T
 to everyone
I'll try not to leave it so long before I post again.0 -

Nice to hear from you again retiredandskint
But urgh! to car troubles - i've had these so often myself - part of the reason i'm keeping my current car rather than get a second hand smaller and more 'me' one is that *fingers crossed* so far i've not had alot of issues with this one and another car couls be very expensive with problems so i am going to persevere. Anyways hope they all get sorted soon.
I was exactly the same - yesterday i think? - with the bay of e - how i'm selling low value stuff but really need big money coming inObviously i am glad these things are selling and are going and to be fair they are only worth the amount being paid - i'd just like some dearer stuff to sell too
But i just checked and i've just over £30 going across to my bank all from these low value things so that is a nice little boost really and they do all add up
Good to hear about the extra income too :T

Nice to see you again retired, I tend to lurk more when I'm down too.
Sorry to hear about the car problems, it's so frustrating isn't it. Glad your OH has got a payrise and a small increase in pension for you.
Glad your ebayer finally paid up too :T :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well some money has arrived in my account today, so I now have £10 to my name, hurrah!
DH has kindly presented me with the van insurance billI thought it was a couple of months away, and I've had the gas and electric bill through too which is definitely a month earlier than it should be  and also rather
Going to have to sit down and do some sums I think, as I need to find an extra £350 next month anyway, and that was before all of that appeared.
I'm another one wishing I had something high value to sell. My ebay stuff, I tend to only get a couple of quid per item, so need lots of volume to make anything decent moneywise up. I have lots to sell, but it is time consuming. It would be nice if I could just list one or two items and get lots of money like my DH does"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Urgh! To the bills coming in jwil - i take it these are between you both? but i understand it doesn't make it any easier when there is still such alot to find x just realised you already had a fair whack extra to find ((hugs))
i know you already know about checking for the best deals and going via cashback where possible.
I'm actually going to look around on gas and electric today - last time though we were already on the cheapest tariffCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Yes, they are split between us both, but it's still best part of £100 each for each bill. The gas and electric is partly covered by what's already in the account, but as it's a month early there's still some to find.
I actually did a big survey at the start of the year, which paid me a £5 amazon voucher to do price comparisons for our gas and electric. It was really interesting, but showed there was little in the way of savings to be done. It was nice to be paid to do it though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hmmm, I'm sitting here, and there is a bird singing REALLY loudly outside the window. I actually had to check whether the window was open it is so noisy. Allegedly the window is double glazed, but it sometimes sounds like there is nothing there
It is another thing on the list of things to do sometime."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Oh yes i know the bills are still a big amount to find - its just it would be even bigger if they weren't split - some of the bills i get its just me paying them
I have done a price check and will be changing suppliers - possibly tonight actually - not loads of cashback on this but a decent saving on the yearly bill which is what i should focus on really- last time i checked which was possibly at the start of the year when i got my last bill we were with the cheapest supplier at that time - i guess they all just change so still worth a check
Bless the loud cheery bird ! I know exactly how that feels and its gotten worse since the window brokeCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000
