  • I feel completely rotten and doubt there will be anything productive from me today :o

Hope you are feeling better soon, DDFW.

Although I feel perfectly well, I got b****r all done today as well - pottered about in the morning, went out to lunch, took a child to the dentist and then messed about on the computer achieving nothing constructive.

    Oh well. :o

Sadly I don't have a smartphone. I can get basic internet access on my phone, but couldn't even get onto that this morning

I already had the dongle, but needed to top it up. With relief I have discovered I can top up £5 and not £15 as it was looking. Hopefully all will be fixed soon.

I remember when our internet went down for almost a whole day due to some cables being nicked somewhere and our entire family got withdrawal symptoms. I had teenagers roaming around the house in a dazed state saying 'What did you, like, DO before the internet?' :rotfl:

Cue my speech about "Internet? Bah - we had a black-and-white TV with only 2 channels until I was well into my teens, no video, no games console, no mobile phones, I can remember the landline being installed in fact, of course we didn't call it a landline then - it was called a 'telephone' ... blah blah blah ......" :D

Hope the phone line gets sorted out soon, Jwil. :)

I can't do without the internet now, and I do remember the days before it :D I suppose it's because I manage everything online, my bank is online only and that's before I do the timewasting stuff too :o

I have no idea how much this is costing me though

    Hi

Loving the posts about teenagers not understanding the world pre Internet...it must seem like ancient history to them! So sorry about the broadband etc jwil that is a pain particularly when you're trying to sell stuff.

Re the toms we will try and plant some up in next fortnight I guess..they will be started inside for sure. My utility room and sills are covered in mini plants! I agree the tumbling toms sounds good. We just put ours on the shed roof ( it is flat though!) which seems to help plus slugs don't seem keen on toms and cucumbers we find...scratchy leaves don't seem to taste as good as some other stuff and on the allotment there is so much other stuff they even leave salad alone!

Hope you get reconnected soon jwil

Ive been really bad and not caught for a a good few days. I cant believe how busy you have all been. All this talk of gardening and seeds. I am planning to attempt growing our own veg etc this year, but I didnt think I needed to start even thinking about it until at least May ?!! Sounds like I got that a bit wrong. I will be reading avidly now for top tips !

I agree with you about Netflix jwil. My trial ends tomorrow, but I just picked a film at random, pressed play turned the sounds down and left it to do its thing ! £15 in the bag, thankyou very much !:D

We subscribed to Lovefilm a few years ago, but recently finished a free trial which earnt us £25 of Amazon vouchers. We used Mr Pinots name again but I think we gave a different email address and all was good. I ahve recently noticed the new offer with Top Cashback and also the Next Vouchers. I am going to give it a go using my name and my email address this time and see what happens. They can only say no !! Does that make me very sneaky ?!! :o

Anyway I hope all of you that have been suffering with this nasty cold are on the mend now.

    Have a good evening x

May is probably OK for a lot of things if you plan to buy your young plants instead of growing them from seed. I'm no expert, mind you, I think Brizzle knows a lot more about veggie-growing than I do.

I would say 'astute'. :D Hope it works, do let us know because I am more than happy to try being just as astute. :)

Thanks brizzle. I may go for plants this year, I'm not sure I can cope with the responsibility of seeds at the moment :rotfl:

I went through topcashback for my netflix trial - there's no need to watch anything there. I will probably try and catch something though, just so I've used it for my benefit.

I'm going to do lovefilm though, I just want to wait until I'll have time to use it. I know they do have a better selection.

I may try and sign up DH too if it works :p

Well my phone line is back :j , but my internet is painfully slow  so I'm on the dongle again. When DH spoke to some of the neighbours yesterday, none of them had phone problems, but nearly all of them were complaining about the internet speeds, so it's possible there's still something going on there. Hope it's fixed soon though!

I've got a few things going out today, so hoping for a few more sales there.

I've just made a payment of £4 today as well.
